After receiving his Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M University in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Sciences, Doug launched a 24- year career in municipal parks and recreation with the City of Missouri City. Photography has always been a prominent part of Doug's life as he photographed wildlife, nature, landscapes, sports and special events as part of his job. His position as the Parks and Recreation
Director allowed him to supply the photos for numerous calendars, brochures, budget covers and press releases. In the late 90's Doug decided to get more serious about photography and began taking photography classes and attending seminars to hone his skills. Starting out with a borrowed Nikon EM film camera from his mother, he is proficient with 35mm format, medium format and digital SLR cameras. He is a graduate of THE NEW YORK INSTITUTE OF PHOTOGRAPHY, the oldest and most prestigious photography school in the nation! In 2001, Doug embarked on a second career, starting his own photography business, Creative Images Photography. In a very short time period Doug has made an impact on the Houston photography scene shooting sports, fashion, editorial, weddings, commercial work and pageants. Doug's photographs have appeared in calendars and on the covers and pages of many national and local magazines. Doug recently moved his photography business from Houston to San Antonio and now has a loft on the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio, Texas. He is a member of the Texas Professional Photographers Association, The Southwest Photographers Association and a Lifetime Member of the International Freelance Photographers Organization.
