It's that time of year...who needs senior pictures?! Such a special time to commemorate in a young person's life....
Fun fact, this entire session was shot in Old Town Helotes - such a cool location with a huge variety of fantastic spots for photos!

Families like these remind me that my freedom isn’t free. Daddy’s been in Afghanistan since May. The word “MERRY” is on the way to him, so Christmas cards can have all three of them. Together and apart. Apart and together. We spent the morning on a section of the San Antonio Riverwalk that was new to me. One of their favorite haunts for morning walks and runs and chases of a toddler down the path. Things to do, enjoying each other while missing the one who is away. Thank you for serving and sacrificing. And for giving me a morning of laughter in the cool morning air.

This dear friend and repeat client joined me in the club. It’s been awhile since I captured a birth, since hospital births are off limits this year. I did that cry laugh happy snort drippy nose thing, seeing this boy join the world.

This girl is full of surprises. This session it was the sweet mimicking faces she was making of her baby brother’s expressions. I literally didn’t even realize it through the lens, only to come home and open up my computer to this magic. In classic small-child form, there were 5 small pumpkins, 3 of which were orange, and only 1 which was just the right one to show to baby brother.

For some mamas and babies, breastfeeding is a hard-fought battle. Persevering takes strength and courage, and often HELP. There is always gratitude and relief wound up with anxiety and pain, in every breastfeeding journey. Treasuring this memory with photos is something that melts my heart every time.
