After years of building Sanaa Photography, i’m closing this chapter.

Going forward i’m photographing 5-8 intimate weddings a year under a new name:

Sansan Stills
less performative,
more curated. Documentary work for couples who want their day captured the way it actually feels.

Still honoring every booking on the calendar here, but this page won’t be active anymore.

Last month was the first time in years I got stuck when someone asked me “what do I do.” I said wedding photographer and then I realized I’m not a wedding photographer anymore. I still freelance for a company, but I’m not advertising that work as me.

I’ve been helping my husband with his food + events page, and it’s been growing exponentially. Filming, directing content. It’s been the funnest thing ever because we’re both passionate about food and understand that a diverse food scene matters. Giving a platform to marginalized communities, that’s always been my passion.

I’m still building Sanaa Photography back into her own person and identity. I know I’m so much more than assisting, and I’m the main character in my story.
But right now I love growing with my partner.

My sister just moved to Austin, 20 minutes away. I’m surrounded by the two closest people in my life, in the city that helped me grow in the arts and managing my own business

I started in 2016 and never looked back. Photographers are probably the most undervalued people.

My first dream was Vogue or a book called “People of the World.” I was told it was dahm near impossible. So I did weddings. It was a substantial career but my camera became a job. I stopped bringing it anywhere.
I’m rewriting my story now.

And I’m keeping it real, I can do this because I have financial backing. “Follow your dreams” doesn’t work for a little Pakistani girl with immigrant parents and public school education from Florida. That quote is for people with safety nets already built.

I rigged the game. I had to. Now I’m finally in love with my camera again.
