As a mother…I’m super partial to documenting motherhood. There are so many phases in it. We are used to our children going through the changes and stages but I feel like as moms, we do the same alongside them. I’ve been looking back in my phone these past few days at photos and videos of when my boys were babies and I swear there are moments I can close my eyes and feel. There are also those moments where I feel like I’m peeking into someone else’s life it feels so distant. I think this is not only why I’m so passionate about making sure we prioritize capturing our family in photos but also why I try my best to offer sessions that are more than just a ‘stand here and smile’ session. I want to make sure that when we’re together we all take the time to breathe and pause and actually sit in these moments. To not focus on if everyone is smiling, or if hair is sitting right or all the stressful parts about getting everyone in the car and ‘prepared’ for photos. Kids have cranky days, heck adults have cranky days, and sometimes the weather throws us a curve ball but I challenge us both to view these experiences as opportunities to make memories with your children and family. To create an experience that your kids will think back on and smile because it was fun and they had a chance to have undivided attention from mom and dad who wanted to just hang out with them and have fun.
