There are sessions you photograph. And there are sessions you carry with you.

I have several incredible senior galleries waiting to be shared this month… and Anne posting so many of her images today felt like a nudge that today is hers. 🥹

Watching her share image after image was its own kind of gift.

Anne’s senior experience was one of the most meaningful sessions I’ve had the honor to create.

We wandered through Gruene… spent time in Boerne… and let the Hill Country be the backdrop for every part of it. Wide open Texas skies. Quiet corners. Real moments.

Anne, being trusted with this season of your life has been a gift I don’t have words for. (And anyone who knows me knows that’s saying something.) 🤍

We are putting the final touches on her gallery and custom album now, and her full story is coming to the blog in a couple weeks… with more to share when the time is right.

Until then, I’m just going to keep marveling at this incredible young woman, and the family that raised her.

Kenzie is not the kind of senior who wanted anything overly posed or staged.

She’s an athlete. Quiet. Driven. Definitely not one dimensional. Very clear on what she didn’t want. And somewhere between downtown alleys, basketball photos, tulips, music, outfit changes (and maybe dragging half my studio through San Antonio)… it all clicked.

That’s my favorite part of any session.

There’s always a moment where someone stops thinking so hard about the camera and just settles in. You can actually see it happen. Once it does, every frame after that feels natural, easy… real.

Kenzie has such a cool sense of style and brought so much of herself into this session. Nothing felt forced. Nothing overdone. Just her, fully owning it by the end of the day.

Also… the strangers hyping her up downtown were not paid actors, but totally could have been 😂

Cum Laude. Class of 2026. Headed to Grayson College to keep doing her thing on the court 🏀

May is full of lasts.

Some you see coming. You put them on the calendar, you show up, and you try to take it all in.

And some sneak up on you. The last time you folded that uniform. The last time their car was in the driveway every night. The last time someone needed a ride.

Then, there are the ones still coming. The last night they sleep at home before they leave for college. The last hug at drop-off. The last look before you walk back to the car.

I am a storyteller. Getting to know your kids, being invited into their lasts, and telling their stories through my lens is a gift I do not take lightly.

I’ve been sitting on Lizzy’s gallery for a minute because I wanted to share it in a way that actually did it justice. 🩵

We built her session out over time, different locations across San Antonio, different looks, different moods. And then we added her spring cap and gown and college tee session just in time for grad season.

That last one came with a bonus story. We were waiting out the rain in her mom’s car, just talking, when one of her classmates (also one of my seniors, by the way) tried to sneak up and tag her in their little game. (y’all know 🫣🔫💦🥽) I may have launched myself out of that car faster than I should have and yelled across the parking lot at him to back off.

Protective over my seniors? Apparently yes.

Lizzy and her mom were laughing. I’m still stunned at my own ferocity in that moment. Yikes.

But that’s kind of what this whole experience is. By the time we get to session day, we already know each other. The consultation, the planning, the back and forth on ideas, it all builds something. So when we’re out there together, even waiting out the rain in a parking lot, it just feels easy and fun. That feeling is a big part of what shows up in the images.

And the last piece of this one, her custom album finished with her own hand-drawn artwork engraved on the cover…I can’t wait to show you that in person. 🌷

Not every senior fits in one box… and honestly, why would they? Rowan is a perfect example of that. 🎸🏙️🎓

San Antonio gives us so many incredible options to work with, and for his session, we leaned IN. We split things over two days so we didn’t have to rush a single part of it… downtown spots one day, and the 1850 Settlement the next. Two completely different looks…both totally him.

I used to ask, “are you a country mouse or a city mouse?” Truth is… a lot of seniors are both.

Rowan brought all of it to the table… his guitar, his truck (and yes, their amaaaaazing dog made an appearance 🐾), those easy Texas roots, then we flipped the switch downtown with a more relaxed, pulled-together look that felt completely different but still him.

And that’s exactly why the Senior Experience is designed the way it is. We’re not trying to squeeze you into one location, one outfit, or one version of yourself. We take the time to plan, to explore, and to create something that actually reflects who you are right now.

From laid-back to dressed up, from boots in the dirt to city streets… Rowan showed up for all of it, and it made this session so much fun to create.

If you’re starting to think about your senior photos, this is your reminder that you’ve got options. A lot of them. And we can build a session that feels like you from start to finish.

Planning is underway for summer sessions in Colorado! I will be up TWICE this summer: mid-June and early August. 🛫⛰️So excited!! This session with Maddie was crazy pants fun, and we laughed just as much as we marveled at the gorgeous scenery, visiting deer, and how stunning Maddie was in each shot. Maddie, you are an incredible young woman, and I cannot wait to watch you bloom at UC Boulder!! Congrats!! 🖤💛

Not every senior session looks the same… and that’s one of my favorite things about this whole process.

When we start planning, I’m not just thinking about locations and outfits. I’m thinking about you… what you’re into, what feels natural, what makes you who you are. It’s not just about your sport or your school, it’s about your style, your hobbies, and the things you might not have thought to include in your senior photos.

So hey, deal me in… a deck of cards and a stack of poker chips. We dreamed this up during his consultation… and that’s where it all starts. It became part of what made his session totally personal and insanely fun. (And yes… we lost count of how many times he had to toss them. 😂)

If you’re starting to think about senior photos, here’s your reminder… they don’t have to fit a mold. (Honestly, it’s so cool if they don’t.)The whole experience should feel like you. And it should absolutely be fun.

Those are the images, and the memories, that last.

I’ve been moving a little more slowly here lately.
Not because I don’t care, but because everything feels heavy, and I’ve been thoughtful about how to show up honestly.

What I keep coming back to is this:
people matter.
kindness matters.
and choosing to see the humanity in one another still matters.

I believe in community.
I believe in caring for the people around us, even when things feel complicated or uncomfortable.
I believe that this country is made up of real people with real stories, and that how we treat one another still counts.

My work, and the way I move through the world, has always been rooted in helping people feel seen, safe, and valued. Whether that’s through creating, listening, or simply being present.

This isn’t a statement or a debate.
It’s a quiet commitment to care more deeply, for everyone around me, in every way that I can.

I just needed to take a moment.
Now back to creating beautiful images, meaningful experiences, and taking care of one another. 🩵
