Do yourself a favor, set aside a half hour or so and not only read this piece written by my good friend Gonzalo Perkelainen, but take the time to look through his photos documenting what I would easily say is the most unique and positive live music experience of my entire life. Fire In The Mountains not only changed how I came to view the festival experience, but how the music you love can bring together the most diverse group of humans and make a positive impact on the youth of our nation and the people who came before "our" nation was little more than an abstract idea. Anyway, I'll quit blabbering and let someone who's better with words and a camera tell the story.

Neurosis opener at Fire In The Mountains was the closest thing to a religious experience I’ve had in my entire life. Waited 25 years for this moment and it was worth every second.

The closest thing to what I would consider a religious experience was seeing Neurosis live for the first time and with the mighty Aaron B Turner joining what might just be the heaviest band to ever walk this Earth. The introduction before their set was a thing of beauty and wonder.

Absolutely crushing it .

I’m back home and working again and the absolute and utter disappointment there was when I didn’t wake up in the mountains of Montana with a full day of revelry and amazing music with some of the nicest and most interesting people I’ve ever met. FITM was an experience like I’ve never had before and I miss it so dearly already.
