I’m making some prints for sale of this film photograph I took of where Bob Hall Pier once stood on North Padre Island. All that remains is the now abandoned restaurant/bar that was “Mikel May’s”. (Check the comments for some photos of the pier and restaurant before it was destroyed)

This was taken on 35mm b&w film with my Olympus OM-1 that was made in 1972. I developed the negatives at home myself.

Framed 8x12 prints in a matted black wooden 12x16 frame - $75

Framed 5x7 prints in a matted black 8x10 frame - $50

Top Nine of 2021.

Always hard to just pick just 9 out of the hundreds and hundreds of photographs I take in one year.. but I’m pretty smitten with these!

Just a self portrait I took a year ago of little ol’ me. I really love the Delta series of Ilford films. Nice inky blacks.. and classic silvery greys with a fine grain clarity…combined with my 1972 Canonet Ql17 Giii 35mm rangefinder camera.. Its a match made in Heaven! Always reminds me of the look and feel of the old silver screen era of Hollywood.

📸 Up for grabs! 📸

I have these two framed prints for sale. I took these of the aspen trees in Colorado along highway 17 between Chama New Mexico, and Antonito Colorado on my recent roadtrip. Both are the exact same scene.. but with two different films. The one on the left was taken with Kodak Ektar 100, the on on the right with Lomochrome Purple (a very unique film that gives beautifully bizarre, violet tinted color shifts!). I developed these myself, and both are printed on high quality metallic paper which is amazing when you see it in person! $45 a piece, or only $80 for the set!

First come, first serve! I’m happy to mail them too!

“Leaving Silverton”
#473 leading the train over the Animas River leaving Silverton, on her way back to Durango. The river was flowing strongly from all the snowmelt up in the mountains.

I may, or may not (may) have had to carefully get through a barbed wire fence, and do a bit of trespassing on some private property to take this photograph. Sometimes it feels kinda good to do something a little bit criminal… especially if it results in a photograph like this!

“Flowers & Fords”
Which is your favorite? 1 or 2?
Shot these while roaming around the residential areas in Silverton, Colorado. Lomochrome Purple is such a fun to shoot with! It emulates the old infrared films like Aerochrome etc.. wild color shifts! Those flowers were actually yellow for instance..

“Star Trails over Silverton”
Here’s a one hour exposure I took around 2am on a very cold night at the train station in Silverton, Colorado last week. I was so tired… but there were so many stars out.. I couldn’t resist! Glad a managed to ignore my warm hotel bed calling me.
