Kenneth Anderlitch 's story is one of resilience, recovery, and giving back. Once in the grips of addiction and shaped by a tough upbringing, Ken found a path to healing through running and the support of a strong community. Now in long-term recovery, Ken’s journey has transformed into something amazing.
In 2022, Ken took on a record-breaking challenge: running 840 miles across Texas (west to east) in just 19 days! His mission? To raise funds and awareness for those in seeking long-term recovery. His effort raised over $50,000, directly helping 25 individuals find treatment through the Pay It Forward SA sober living program.
His next mission is even more ambitious— starting on September 20, he'll be running from The Friendship Place in Washington, D.C., to Haven for Hope in San Antonio, TX! Over 1,800 miles! As he crosses communities large and small, Ken’s goal is to highlight a crucial issue: parents who struggle with addiction often face a heartbreaking choice between seeking treatment or staying physically close to their children.
Ken aims to show that this tough decision doesn’t have to be faced alone. Through inspiration, awareness, and a lot of miles, he’s bringing hope to families facing these challenges. By uniting communities and raising awareness, Ken believes we can help thousands of parents find the support they need to overcome addiction while keeping their families together.
White Cloud will accompany Ken and his support team throughout his entire trek from DC to SA, aiming to document and showcase the numerous stories surrounding the journey toward long-term recovery and the importance of keeping families united.
The film, The Long Road Home, will premier in Spring 2025.
