"The Headshot" is an important tool in a photographer's bag of tricks. But not everyone can pull it off. I'm always pushing to get better with each and every client.

After doing a recent shoot with a new client, I decided to write a short article on why the headshot is so special. Check it out below!

Headshot photography is a special genres that requires the photographer to portray the client as professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable.

Did some work in Downtown Austin a few months back, just forgot to share the end results. This was in a high rise condo building with a beautiful view of downtown. Would love to be able to crash here after a night in ATX.

Recently did some work for some new clients, Fisher Heck Architects & CreedCo construction company. Both companies are looking to improve their online presence & marketing, and we were all excited to work together. It was a great experience and an amazing transformation they did on this home in Whispering Oaks!

The shoot lasted about 6 hrs and we were able to get eleven final images. The process for Architectural Photography can be slow, but it takes patience and expertise to get great images. Each project presents a new challenge, which can be both fulfilling and frustrating at the same time. It helps to work with awesome clients who have an understanding for the art and appreciate the final product.

Oh man. I've been good friends with Rick Damiano Jr. for a long time. He let me explore my photo creativity in the early days. I would run around and photograph during classes at Helotes CrossFit and post them up to their pages. I was using a Canon kit I bought from Best Buy because it was on sale. I remember thinking the photos were cool but that they sucked at the same time. It's funny how common this feeling is for new photographers. But moving on.....😎

I just did some coach's portraits for HCF last weekend and we thought it would be cool to recreate some family photos. Below are photos from 4&1/2 years ago, and some from the other day. I think he feeds his kids spinach and protein shakes every day. This was a fun shoot and I'm glad I got to spend time with the Damiano family!

Maternity shoot down at The Pearl in San Antonio.

This was definitely a fun one. The Pearl has so many good spots to take great photos, but you have to be prepared to handle the environment. There are always a good amount of people hanging out, and there are ALWAYS a lot photographers using the good locations. You just have to be cool, respectful and know what you’re getting in to. If you know this and prepare your client, it should be smooth sailing.

Karla & Pedro are always fun to work with! They’re very patient, and Karla is always styled up, which makes for even better photos. I’m happy with the end product and I hope they are too. :)

It's that time of the year for Holiday photos. I have a handful of clients that book me every year for family Christmas photos. Not only to "catalogue" the memories, but to share Christmas cards with the family and friends.

My niche is in Architectural/Design photography and videography, but I did portrait work for a long time and still enjoy doing them to this day. I love working with people and creating images which they feel excited to share with others.

This is a little personal project I did to showcase some of the artwork going up in downtown San Antonio. It was shot with the DJI Mavic 2 and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro. The more I play with this drone, the more I'm loving it.
