Here’s another incredible shot by my wife, Tracy, on our recent trip to Colorado Springs. This is a Sulphur Butterfly on rabbit brush. I absolutely love the way the sun lights the butterfly and flower so perfectly and you can even see the body of the little guy through his translucent wings. What a great shot, Tracy! I’m a little jealous, but more excited for you!

PHOTO SPOTLIGHT

I have to share this stunning image taken by my incredibly talented wife, Tracy, while on our recent nature trip to Colorado Springs. We had stopped to photograph a mountain stream when she got this shot of the sun coming through the fall leaves. Often, the shots you didn’t plan are some of the best. Always be open to everything and be spontaneous with your shooting. You never know what you’re going to get and that’s the beauty of it!

I absolutely love the way this turned out! I wanted to capture the layering of the golden wheat in the foreground out of focus, then the layers of green and yellow trees, then that amazing rock in the Garden of the Gods, then finally the bands of white and blue of the sky. I choose to use shoot the rock dead center to capture the layering of all the colors and textures. And here’s the result. Garden of the Gods Park

I've found a new passion! Photographing bathing birds! Here's some more shots of this goose bathing I took and I'm really beginning to see how beautiful they are! It's not the normal way you see these majestic birds and captures it in a way we can't see with out own eyes. I love it!
