Over the years, I’ve come to realize that photography is about so much more than pressing a shutter button. Behind every image are years of learning, growing, investing, and serving others. There are countless hours spent preparing, communicating with clients, traveling, photographing, editing, and delivering images that families will treasure for generations.
I share this humbly because I know many creatives wrestle with the same feelings. The truth is, charging fairly isn’t about greed—it’s about stewardship. It allows us to continue serving our clients well, maintain our equipment, invest in our craft, and provide an experience that honors the importance of life’s moments.
It can also be easy to compare ourselves to photographers offering mini sessions or lower-priced services. Some may be building their portfolios, learning the craft, or simply operating from a different stage in their journey—and there is room for everyone. But I’ve learned that not every client is my client. Those who value experience, consistency, and the care that comes from years behind the camera are seeking something different.
Whether it’s a wedding day, a newborn’s first days, or a family gathered together, these moments cannot be recreated. It is truly an honor to be trusted with them.
Thank you to every client who has invited me into their lives and trusted me to preserve their memories. I never take that privilege lightly.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23
