Forty-two and You Photography

Forty-two and You Photography My camera has been my third arm since the Polaroid I had as a kid. In college, I took the opportunity to truly learn about photography.

✨My work combines traditional photography with manual editing, pure artistry!
👉 Explore my work and join the journey: fortytwoandyouphotography.com I fell in love with the meditative processes of the camera, film processing, and photo editing. My favorite process was Gum Bichromate, a combination of photography, paint, and sunlight to process the images

. After college, I worked as a wedding photographer second shooter, and a portrait photographer in a family-oriented studio. I thoroughly enjoyed photographing people, but then I found a passion for capturing nature. Flowers are my muse and the focus of my collection. The colors, shapes, and textures are intriguing and complicated. I get goosebumps when I can capture a bloom perfectly to make it feel like you can grab it off the paper after printing. With each image I capture I have a vision of how I want the final piece to look. Not only do I use my mirrorless digital camera, but I also use current editing software to craft my image. I do not use AI in any part of my editing or photography. I manually make each adjustment to brighten the colors or bring out clarity. I strive to create photography art so that you feel like you are standing right there with me. The “you” in 42-and-you is for all the photography lovers who enjoy my art and support my small business; none of this would be possible without YOU

Interior designers often talk about sightlines. They're the natural path your eye travels when you enter or move through a room.

Most people never think about this consciously, but they feel it. Art placed directly in a sightline changes a room immediately.

Placement is as intentional as the work itself.

I think "Papery White I" could fit into a few different places. Where will you display it?

Delicate white petals unfurl softly, revealing hints of warm orange at their center. The subtle interplay of light and shadow enhances the textural depth, inviting a moment of quiet reflection. Gentle hues meld into one another, creating an ethereal atmosphere that seems to hold a whisper of nature’s grace. This piece serves as a serene focal point, seamlessly enriching any space with its tranquil beauty.

A lot of people hold off on collecting art because they rent and feel uncertain about committing to walls they do not own. But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you.

Renting is not a reason to live with bare walls. It is a reason to collect work that matters enough to keep moving (and growing) with you.

"Montana" and my other work are connected to the people who love them, not just the places they're displayed.
