In the Junior 270cc Micro Sprint class this past Saturday night at Blanket Hill Speedway, Audrina Hobaugh looked to be the car to beat until a late-race issue forced her off Turn 2. Grady George inherited the lead and held off a strong comeback charge from Audrina to take the into Victory Lane. Audrina recovered for a solid second-place finish, with Nick Sherrin, Jonah Young, and Grant Alchier rounding out the top five.

The youngest class of the night, the Bandits (ages 5–8), put on a great show at Blanket Hill Speedway. Maverick Hawkins picked up the feature win, followed by Parker McDonald, Carson Kraisinger, Gunner Steinheiser, Cole Zambotti, Jacob Sadecky, Holden Stivason, Karsyn Nakutis, and Lane Young. Watching these drivers improve every week is truly inspiring!

Last Saturday night at Blanket Hill Speedway, the Junior Sprints took center stage for their annual Cash Bash with fifteen strong entries on hand. The young drivers had a change of pace on the night with time trials added to the qualifying schedule. Joey Zambotti set quick time early and followed it up by picking up the feature win! Carson McFerren came in second with Harley Drohn putting up another solid run coming in third. Lizzy Price came across the line fourth and Devon Nakutis rounding out the top five.

Noah Wirginis put on an absolute clinic, dominating the entire race from start to finish to return to victory lane at Hill Speedway. Wally Stock gave it his all and threw everything he had at him, but was simply no match for Wirginis last Saturday Night. Behind the leaders, Brayden Miller continues to look better and better each time out and was exciting to watch as he fought for every position! Rich Cavallo was in a different car and looked to find some immediate speed in the new ride. Dave Cornish was putting on one of his best performances yet but a spin would send him to the rear.

So many great racers and absolutely beautiful machines from yesteryear were on display and sure did put a smile on my face watching them and hearing those V8's growl!

Tyler Turner made his first trip out to Blanket Hill Speedway for the 2026 season and immediately returned to his winning ways, taking the checkered while putting on a clinic! A few other drivers made the long tow out to the 1/5-mile oval as well, putting on quite a show behind him.

The night wasn't without heartbreak, though. Points leader Fred Salenske suffered a mechanical issue during his heat race, ultimately ending his night early. Meanwhile, Mike Rosselle was battling it out lap-after-lap with one of the division newcomers until a tough spin coming out of turn 4 cut his strong run short. This division never ceases to put on some good and hard racing! The question is, will Zach Robles return and make a run at retaking the #1 spot?

After failing to take the start, Adam Presnar pulled back to the pits before the green flag flew, setting the stage for JR McCutcheon and Logan Bigley to battle for the top spot. JR McCutcheon and Logan Bigley absolutely put on a show, trading sliders and battling hard before McCutcheon parked his #88 machine straight into victory lane! Behind them, the racing was just as fierce, with Grady Rinehart putting up an impressive run to secure his best outing yet in the 600 division. The Blazavich Boys ran a good race but some bad luck kept them from being contenders. I'd look for them to rebound in the coming weeks at Blanket Hill Speedway! Mitchell Rend continues to show some great speed and looks to be eyeing up a visit to victory lane, but gremlins seem to be following him this season.
