WE LOVE THESE PEOPLE!

We're always so grateful when we get to spend a few hours with them under the Texas sun. We were only able to meet Harper for a few minutes months ago so it was DELIGHTFUL to get to be around our old friends (weren't you just new friends? TIME STOP IT) and see them thriving as parents (still surreal) and enjoying Harper Rae because she's an angel and loves all the same things I do- naps, Torchys, DOGS- specifically Cassie, and hanging out with Jay and Melody. We always wish we had more time with them but are so grateful for the moments we get. Love you, Bouchers, I'll get you your pics soon promise. 💛

In a season that encourages us to posture our hearts towards thanksgiving, I've discouragingly found mine to be postured toward scarcity. James and I have so much to be thankful for in the last few months - family, a new niece and one on the way, a new home, our health, community, Jesus, Luna, the list should drone on and on... but lately, it hasn't. It's stopped at the beginning when my eyes only want to see the hard, the lack of, the things we don't have, the things/people we've lost. I'm hoping the realization of this heart defect urges redemption, that tonight when I close my eyes, as Sleeping At Last so eloquently lyricized, "to count my blessings instead of sheep." May we all find a little more abundance in the miracle of giving thanks.

Sleeping At Last

Meeting Liberty Ann was truly a blessing. Seeing my sister as a new mom, ugh, my heart swells with joy and the good kind of pride and amazement. The way she and Nazari look at Libby makes me weepy. They love her fully and deeply. Lis is a warrior. Libby is an angel. Naz is overjoyed. So elated to be this girl's aunty and see her embrace the truth that she matters and that she is royalty. Thank you Jesus for this good gift. Love you, Dorosh party of THREE!
