Through My Sister's Eyes Photography Arizona Portrait Photography www.throughmysisterseyes.com We are two sisters who have shared a lifelong love of all things photography.

In 2009, we decided to start a business doing what we love. Taking the best photo ever has always been our goal. We provide portrait photography in natural light settings for newborns, children, families, couples and senior/grads. ~Karen DeWitt and Tina Larcey

Here's an article about one of God's precious children, Baby Bennie, who we got to photograph along with his family before he passed. He and his family lifted us up instead of it being the reverse and we'll always be thankful we got that call and answered. He is the inspiration for the project we want to launch called Heartprints. All we need now is time...

Editor’s note: Bobbie Lippman is off on another of her adventures, and in her absence, we are running a favorite column from the archives. Warning: You may need a tissue or two for this one. When I heard a brief version of this story from my friend, Kath Schonau, of Aging Wisely with Heartfelt Hands…

You meet the nicest people when you're taking pictures!!! :) Last night we had a photo shoot with a great family out at the Salt River. When we finished, the light was so amazing we had to stay and take some pictures of Red Mountain. There we met Zak and Sarah and their chocolate lab. We asked Zak to take a photo of us and here is what he emailed us last night! We love it and just had to share. We're always behind the camera and not often in the photos...especially together! Thank you, Zak Kogut, for going above and beyond!

"Life is Good" 364/365~ BFF. I can’t let this project close without mention of one of the biggest reasons my life is good. My sister! No really...how lucky am I after more than 1/2 a century to honestly be able to say that my sister has always been, is now, and will forever be my bff? We’ve played different roles for each other through each of life’s triumphs and trials, but of one thing I can always be certain... she is always by my side! I love her...Life is Good! ♥ T..and what kind of BIG sister would I be if I let you have the last word? Everything Tina just said...ditto! It's an amazing relationship with deep roots and more love than I ever would have imagined when you were 4 and I was 5 and I had to drag you around with me!!! Yes indeed...Life is G.O.O.D.!

"Life is Good" 363/365~Happy, Happy, Happy. Now what, I ask myself, would possess a woman of my age to wait in line at the grand opening of a local coffee store for a Dutch Freeze? Or put the 1st bumper sticker I’ve had in at least 40 years on my car?!? Loud music?...Not! Letting my engine idle for 20 min?...Not! The brass ring at the drive through?....Not! I discovered a little known secret a couple of years ago called Dutch Bros. Coffee and they are growing by leaps and bounds! Best Coffee E.V.E.R! But it’s more than that. I once asked if they have some sort of training when they are hired...sort of like Disneyland. They are all young, energetic, edgy, and blasts from the past “hippie” era. They all are extremely good at making your minute at the window an "upbeat, all about you" experience! It’s refreshing to know that “happy” still exists in the workplace. Life is Good!

Just a little P.S. from Karen: I believe it was someone doing something incredible and touching at Dutch Bros that spurred on this whole "Life is Good" idea for Tina!

"Life is Good" 362/365 ~ It's finally fall...or beginning to be anyway! The mornings are cool and the evenings are cooling down. In the Valley, we may not be able to see leaves turning but there are new and different plants blooming and there's a freshness in the air. Football games will suddenly become so much more fun in the crisp air! Fall is typically a time we think about celebrations coming up and focus on giving thanks (which we should do all year long!). We have an extra busy few months ahead with a wedding in California in October and Pete's wedding in November. It's all so exciting and with small signals of the end of a long, hot summer I am feeling energized! For today anyway, I'll stop looking at fall photos in places where there is a glorious riot of color and be thankful for what I have...cooler temps! Ahhh...life is good!

"Life is Good" 361/365~In the middle of a crazy “day off" (from my day job) I squeezed in a stop at the car wash. With a list of obligations to others and a long "to-do" list, the “busy” part of me was a bit frustrated with how long it took an elderly gentleman in front of me (hello...I am now an elderly person too) to discuss and decide what it was he wanted done with is car. As my car rolled out of the wash it failed to start and a morning full of “fixes” and additional errands ensued. But guess who was the first person to express his concern, tell me he was sorry for what I was going through and ask if there was anything he could do to help me? ...The “slow, elderly” gentleman. Defining moment... Life is good!

"Life is Good" 360/365~Heroes. I heard this story on the news last night about a 3 year old who was being recognized as a hero for calling 9.1.1 when his mom was having a seizure. Despite the fact he has some speech delays was able to get his message across to dispatch and all turned out well. And then I learned that his mom had adopted him from foster care a little over a year ago. Who’s the hero here? My vote goes to both of them! I rarely watch the news and I think I was meant to be in the room when this story was on...it brightened my day...Life is Good!

He's just three years old, but he knew what to do when his mom started having a seizure. Today, that little boy was recognized by Mesa firefighters for his actions in helping save his mother.

"Life is Good" 359/365 ~ What's good about this, you ask??? Well...today without a cell phone is not going to be so much fun! The good news is I now know that Find My iPhone works! My phone was in the middle of a busy street about 3 miles from home and I FOUND IT!!!!!! The bad news is I have to replace it anyway but at least I got it back...or if I hadn't found it I could have wiped it clean from Find My iPhone. Soooo...this post is really an admission of: 1) my stupidity in driving off with my phone on top of the car and 2) kudos to Apple for coming up with a pretty valuable tool! And the other good thing...I might just get a new iPhone 5s...might I said! Life is Good either way! And the other really good thing....I was driving the hubby's Vette and it's much better to have a wrecked phone than a wrecked car, especially THAT car!!!

"Life is Good" 358/365 ~ Answers to prayer...Many of you have been following the saga of my two year old granddaughter, Hailey, and some have also been praying for her. It seemed fitting to post a final update about her progress (before this project ends in a few days) since it definitely falls into the "life is good" category. Hailey is an absolute joy and is a very sweet child. She is now walking all over the place and is beginning to talk. She's currently going to a speech playgroup at ASU and will be going to preschool in January. Each time we get to see her, she does or says something new. We are so thankful for the progress she's made and we have every reason to believe one of these days she'll be finished catching up and all of this will be a dim memory for us. I can't tell you how thankful we are for all the prayers, good wishes, concern and love! God is G.O.O.D. and life is surely G.O.O.D.!
