I have been at a loss for words since my mourning sickness kicked in strong earlier this year. Then a worldwide pandemic hit and I was actually grateful that the world stopped and my family got to be together for days on end. While it will be a hard recovery financially for us, as we are both self employed and our businesses came to a full stop, these past few months in a cocoon has given my soul some amazing benefits to endure the days we are now living through with hope for the future...

There is so much I want to say and I don’t even know where to begin. I have learned so much just in the past 24 hours... I am honestly disgusted by how Black people have been treated all throughout history and to this day. It angers me, it is completely and utterly unfair. I am still learning but what I know for sure is we can do so much better... We can all do better. First by opening our eyes and acknowledging what is going on, acknowledging our (white) privileges and treating every single human with respect and love they deserve.

I don’t know what it is about daddies and grandpas holding a newborn baby that makes me melt. I think it’s because they don’t give birth, they don’t carry these babies, so all of the sudden a baby is in their arms and they feel this love that’s so deep and it comes out of the blue... Unlike the built in love mothers feel and nurture throughout pregnancy. At least for me the love builds up as birth approaches. It must be an incredible rush of happy hormones for men once they hold that baby! 💙.

January always brings me winter blues. This Brazilian needs sunshine more than the average American. My vitamin D usually gets depleted and my mood tanks, I get creative blocks, this year I got the freaking swine flu while pregnant along with my 3 kiddos! 😭 I had high hopes for a great 2020, I still do, but man, it started out badly. Hopefully that’s as low as we go and it’s all uphill from here. 🤩

Today I’m joining + in fast for their sweet Indy Llew who’s in back in the hospital in critical condition following her cancer treatment. These guys are outstanding parents and the most positivity inspiring and faith promoting people I ever came across. No wonder they were gifted with such a special light which is little Indy Llew. 💖 To join the fast just abstain from food for one or two meals and for her full recovery. Pray for her parents, for their physical strength and spiritual sustaining. Pray that their angles may minister their miracles along side the living angels working Indy’s case in hospital. Pray that the grandparents and aunts and uncles will be comforted. Pray that all of the hearts that suffer will be filled with peace. These are of course suggestions on what to pray for. Pray for anything. Pray once or all day. But join thousands in hope and in faith today for miss Indy and her amazing parents! ✨

Each post on professional IG account takes valuable real estate. Usually professionals rightfully picky with what goes in the tiles below; we obviously want to showcase our best work. Though today I’m disregarding this general advice and going for the art in photojournalism. Last post’s images win my vote for gotta shoot this now or else I’ll miss the moment. I could have changed the settings so the whole image was in focus, not just the center, but I would have missed the contagious laugh. And this post goes for shooting outside the box... Birth is beautiful! Some are super fun! We wouldn’t want to forget that, would we?
