Sara Shaw Photography

Sara Shaw Photography Wesley Hughes Photography is named after my two Grandfathers, Wesley, and Hugh, who were a huge influence in my life.

My Grandfather Wesley taught me many things, which I aspire every day to carry out. One of the most important concepts he taught me was how to find joy and beauty in the most unlikely places, situations and objects. Grandpa Wesley would pick up a dirty rock and turn it about marveling and how wonderful and beautiful this everyday rock was. He took the time to not only enjoy every day run of the mi

ll things but to also love them for exactly what they were. I try to convey that message with my photos, I attempt to show people a different perspective of something they may have over looked. My Grandfather Hugh taught me how to work hard and play hard. He also instilled in me how to take time to “watch the corn grow.” In our day to day we often get so caught up in what has to be done that we are losing sight of what we have done and what is right in this moment. Taking time to enjoy a sunset or bison meandering through a field has helped me see moments and catch them on film that I may have missed. Art is a personal and subjective to an individual. Each photo was taken with love and awe of the subject. I see the world differently than most and my photography is a way to show others my point of view. My hope is that the photos move you in someway, that they tell a story that speaks to you, and image that won’t leave you.

This is my man Frank. I rescued him 7ish years ago. I’m an animal person but at the time wanted a big dog to do adventures with. Having a large fur buddy helped me get out when I wasn’t feeling up to it but more importantly gave me a sense of comfort and protection (even though my pug was more likely to get someone than he is🤣). Being a woman and in the outdoors I didn’t always feel safe. What barriers do you have to the outdoors?
