Scouting for your own locations as a photographer is so important because if you just ask other photographers they gate-keep.

I was told by photography groups over and over that all rooftops in Downtown SLC were closed. I didn’t listen to there advice & went and found my own spots. I’ve since then shot on two different parking garage rooftops!

Unpopular opinion every talks about golden hour and the warm tones are delicious but blue hour is just as pretty in my mind!

PS.. the double exposure at the end was done in camera! 📸

The Black Family was such a joy to capture! Amy won our new year’s giveaway & her daughter was leaving on a mission—so we snuck these in the day before her big departure. One of the sons almost didn’t make it because of the California fires 🔥 but I’m glad it all worked out in the end! We had a little extra time at the end so we also updated headshots too!
