Documentary family photo session in downtown Salt Lake, Utah.

This time of life is the absolute sweetest, and can also be a time that you’re so sleep deprived you can’t remember is as good as you want to. The squishy baby soon, fanned out toes, fuzzy hair. I will never get tired of photographing any of the above.

So sorry for the delayed response!

My most commonly used phrase of 2024.

Second most common—thank you for being patient with me!

I’ve had the absolute best time in my business the last couple years, right alongside the most difficult time with my physical health. I’ve thankfully gotten to the bottom of most, if not all my issues, and am implementing things that feel more proactive, instead of trying to power through with caffeine even though it didn’t really help that much.

I don’t feel like I’ve juggled things well, and have dropped the ball here and there, but I have seriously had the absolute best clients that have been so kind and understanding, and can’t wait to continue to document such meaningful times in people’s lives in the upcoming years. ✨

It’s always so meaningful to capture the love and connection between two people, which was easy to do with these two. They have such a genuine love for each other, and I loved highlighting their connection in their relationship in such a cool downtown location in Salt Lake, with the best architecture. These two are the coolest, and I cannot wait for their wedding!!!

PRO TIP--If your makeup artist doesn't do this, have them face you toward a window while they’re doing your makeup to get the most beautiful natural light that will illuminate your skin and eyes and make you glow. If you are doing your own makeup, sitting next to a window works as well.

STOP SCROLLING LIKE A CRAZY PERSON
or you'll miss it.

We are losing our ability to notice, and to be present, which plays a HUGE part in creating meaningful photographs and also finding meaning in our lives.
-
I'm blown away at our hyper-consumption of media. We literally take in terabytes of information daily, and while I love wasting time on my phone as much as the next person, I'm a huge proponent for finding ways to get away from phones, and especially taking breaks from social media. This is where meaning, purpose, and connection is found.
-
Now, if you've focused your attention long enough to read all the way to the bottom, I was hoping as you stopped that you'd notice the teeny tiny pigtail that almost didn't make it into the shot. Taking in and noticing details bring joy, and I'd love to encourage you to walk through your day with a little more awareness to the details surrounding you. Stop "scrolling like a crazy person" and look. ;)
