Yesterday was Mother’s Day. So much of my life revolves around Mother’s. I spend at least three days a week with my own Mother. I spend every single day counting my blessings that I am a mother. I’ve spent the last year trying to have another child, so I also have developed stronger empathy for those who want to become mothers. I’ve had two miscarriages, so my thoughts are frequently with Mother’s who have lost children. And to top it all off, my favorite job in the world is documenting others becoming Mothers. I am empowered by the strength and sacrifice required by motherhood. I constantly marvel how motherhood comes natural for women while simultaneously being the most impossible job ever.
Mothers are amazing. Those who are Mothers to many and keep everyone alive. Those who are Mothers to few and do the best they can. Those who want to be Mother’s and cope with the pain every single day. And all of the Mother’s before us who blessed us with our own lives.
Happy Mother’s Day. I am grateful to be surrounded by so many amazing women.
