ANNOUNCEMENT- I made a 2023 goal list, I put “have my work in a gallery” on it, and then this happened the same week. My work is in a gallery for the very first time and it’s only 2022! Proud to say it just happens to be in the “Use Your Resources” show in her gallery on 10 w 51st St! I’m honored and thrilled! This is one of the works I have in the show, but you’re going to have to go see in person to view my other piece! The show runs through December so if you’re in NYC go check it out 💫💫💫

So excited to announce the premiere date of my new and improved podcast! Woman In A Hat: Artists, Being Artists w Stacie A Buhler - launches December 12th!!

When I was about 12 years old I was afraid to wear a baseball cap. I thought I might get made fun of. I remember gathering the courage to wear my brothers old St Louis Cardinals hat… and I wore it one day. Then the next, and the next after that. I wrote down these words in my journal, “I want to be known for wearing this red baseball cap.” I remember wearing that hat almost every single day that summer. And I remember my brother saying something along the lines of, “I’m never going to forget that dumb red hat.” I thought I had achieved my goal, I was very pleased with myself.

As the years went on I found myself always being attracted to hats.. whether it be a beanie, a wide brim, or a cool ball cap I was IN. As my grandfather declined in health with dementia, I would visit him in his home. And for some reason… maybe my hat obsession… I always wore a hat when I saw him. He didn’t remember my name, but he always knew he loved that girl that visited him who wore a hat. He would always say, “Oh! It’s you! I haven’t seen you in a while, don’t you live far away?” I had moved to New York City after my grandmother passed. He knew the hat, and he felt the love I had for him when he saw me. It was a really cool thing.

Almost exactly one year ago, I made a twitter account. I dropped a collection of NFTs and away I ran. I had just gotten a new bucket hat and my partner and I decided to take portraits. The bucket hat and round glasses with a cigarette Profile Picture was born. I quickly was growing a following on twitter as I hosted audio chat rooms with my bucket hat PFP. I went to NYC for an NFT conference and was recognized easily in Times Square with my hat and glasses that encouraged me to wear each day of the event!

One of my favorite Henri Matisse paintings is “Woman In A Hat”. As I thought more about the title of this painting.. I realized. I have become the Woman In A Hat.

If you don’t like dogs- stop reading and scroll on by! Lol

I am thankful for many things. Today I’m feeling particularly grateful for my lil baby Two. The first photo is the first picture I have of her 😭❤️

I know, I know… non-dog lovers will not understand this at all 😂 I love humans and I’m SO grateful for all of the people in my life and adore them deeply- but I want to write this post as an “entry” in my online journal. , feel free to add anything I miss in the comments. 😂

You know you’re going to fall in love with a puppy. They’re fu***ng adorable. WELL. Me and Two had some falling in love to do. I wanted her to immediately fall in love with me and that’s just not how bulldogs work. You gotta take some serious time bonding before the love story begins. I don’t know when we officially fell in love… maybe after two or three months?

When I got divorced she was my rock. She took care of me and loved the f**k out of me when I was severely mentally ill, grieving, and somewhat alone in LA. Those days. Wow. I didn’t go anywhere without Two. We’d made TikTok’s, go for walks in our neighborhood, visits to , we’d go get hash browns from McDonald’s every morning on our way to the beach… it was a sad time. But the best time and memories with her. After those three months alone in LA we became attached at the hip for good. 👯‍♀️

I still take her everywhere, whenever I can make it happen. I love falling asleep with her in my arms every night. I love saying “good morning” to her, see her eyes light up, and then immediately go into play mode!

I’m so fu***ng in love with this dog. My soul sister, my best best pal in the world. ❤️ If you read this until the end, I’ll assume you love your dog too. They’re the best. All of them. End of story. 😭🐾🐾🐾
