Girl moms, do you ever wonder what raising little boys would be like? Because every now and then, I wonder what my house would be like with a girl. Would it be quieter or just as chaotic? Would she let me put her hair in braids and pigtails or run away when she sees the brush? Would she want to dress up like me or will she refuse to wear socks. All the fun thoughts that ran through my head during this session. I guess we’ll never know. But I am truly grateful for the two little boys I am blessed with. ♥️

Been Very MIA. So much has change, so here’s a life update.

⛰️ Had my second child last October (boy mom life)

🏔️ Picked up snowboarding but had to sit out this season for health reasons.

🏔️ Fortunate enough to buy a house in a wonderful neighborhood and close to all the recreational activities my family enjoy (and 20-mins from all our favorite day hikes).

🏔️ Rekindled old friendships in Utah while making new awesome friends

🏔️Finally renewed my national certification as a school psychologist. I still love my job and the awesome people I get to work with.

🏔️ Still doing photography but have been focusing more on family and senior portraits. After becoming a mom, I have found a new appreciation in servicing other families and their children.

🏔️ Just taking life one day at a time. Learning to appreciate the slow moments instead of searching for the next adrenaline rush.

This account has a pulse after all 😅. I’m still here, but just taking it slow. Moving across the country (3xs makes me a pro, right?) and it requires patience to adjust as a small family.

Here are some good things that are happening:

🏔️ UT is freaking beautiful all year round, but even more so in the winter

🏔️ Dean LOVES his daycare. I worried about him the most because he was really attached to his old teacher, but he runs right into the door each day I drop him off ❤️

🏔️ I’m starting to understand the grid system (IYKYK)

🏔️ Found a group of girlies who love the NFL as much as I do. So I’m not screaming at the screen by myself anymore.

🏔️ We’re picking up snowboarding as a family. I hear skiing and boarding are the only way to survive the winter here. And we have the best powdery snow to do it.

That’s just a quick little snippet of how things are. We are here and don’t plan on leaving anytime in the next decade. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

There’s a small corner in our lives where we’re filled to the brim with anticipation. Countless hours we spend in the night dreaming about a future with little hands outstretched towards us. But I hope you take the time to also love and appreciate the moment you’re currently in. Every little kick and hiccup is a reminder that your little one is already here. Safe and sound.

Don’t forget to make those memories with the ones you love. I took Dean to the park this morning for a mommy and me date. We met another family with the sweetest little girl 🌸. Dean and the girl played side by side until Dean decided he wanted to explore other parts of the park.

He’s my only child, so being able to see him with other children his age makes me heart bloom 💙💙💙. I hope all the other first time mommas out there are able to find time with the little ones too.

Fall hits a little different in Utah. I’m so lucky to live in this beautiful state. More importantly, I’m so lucky to know so many of its beautiful people.

These are the last few days I have left with Dean before he turns one. I’m so grateful for all the little things I had to “give up” in order for motherhood to show me what I would become.

Nothing in this world fills my heart more than seeing your big ear-to-ear grin. And your laugh is my favorite sound. I seriously don’t think I’ve ever loved anything more than being your mother ❤️❤️❤️

Photos from my maternity shoot that I had never shared. It was about this time last year when I had my husband take these. I was so nervous and worried the whole experience would feel stressful. It’s hard taking photos when you don’t recognize your own body. But looking back, I’m so glad I did. I’ll always cherish these photos of me carrying my first born. It wasn’t an easy pregnancy, but the baby and I made it out healthy and happy.

If there are any first time expecting mamas who want to reach out and talk, I’m here to listen without any judgement. Nobody can prepare you for what this journey to motherhood brings. ❤️

I love movement. That includes jumping to kick up your feet like a child. I believe your photos should look and feel like you.

I always get that “I’m not comfortable having my photos taken.” And that’s ok. Most people aren’t. Just be you. Leave the rest to me. Would you agree? ❤️
