Skyler’s senior session didn’t quite go as planned, she wanted snow, and we almost had it but Idaho had other ideas

Instead, we leaned into the cloudy skies and ended up with the dreamiest, moody tones. We mixed in a few outfits, including her cap + gown, and made the most of it.

One of the very first little girls I ever photographed was Skyler

And somehow, in what feels like the blink of an eye, we’ve gone from those early sessions to annual school photos, to capturing moments before dances and now, her senior photos.

That’s the part of this job that never gets old for me.
Watching these kids grow up. Watching their personalities come into their own. Getting to be invited back into your lives, year after year, it’s something I will never take for granted.

My business hasn’t been built on one-time sessions. It’s been built on you, on the families who come back, who trust me again and again, who allow me to grow alongside them. Your loyalty, your support, and your belief in what I do has shaped not only my business, but who I am behind the camera.

Skyler is such a perfect example of that. Getting to photograph her over the years and now capture this milestone, it’s more than just photos to me. It’s history. It’s connection. It’s trust.

There’s something extra special about a session where someone comes in with a vision and we get to bring it to life together. Maddie had a clear idea of what she wanted, and I loved getting to lean into her creativity and make it happen.

We headed downriver to Shoup for a few “just because” photos, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day. The light was soft, the river was peaceful, and it gave us the perfect backdrop to just have fun with it.

Maddie had her eye on the retro gas pumps, and they added such a fun, nostalgic vibe to the session. I love when someone brings a unique idea like that, it’s those little personal touches that turn photos into something more meaningful.

These kinds of sessions are always a reminder that photos don’t have to wait for a big milestone. Sometimes it’s just about capturing a season of life as it is, fun, carefree, and a little bit spontaneous.

When a senior tells me they want photos with their truck and a bridge, say less. We headed down Highway 93 South and made it happen, with one of the best bridges in Lemhi County and the Salmon River as the backdrop

He brought the perfect mix of looks too, letterman jacket, football jersey, and of course the cowboy hat. It all came together to tell his story in such a genuine way.

Also, let’s be honest, not every senior guy is thrilled about photos at first, but once we make it about them and what they want, it always turns into something fun and relaxed and Clayton proved that.

This summer I’d love to spend a little time capturing some of the things that make our community special. Not formal sessions, just real moments, events, and stories that deserve to be documented.

Some ideas I’ve been thinking about:
• Local youth sports games or tournaments
• County fair moments or behind-the-scenes
• Community events or fundraisers
• Small businesses in action
• Volunteer groups doing what they do best

I love documenting the little pieces of life that make this area what it is. If you’re organizing something this summer and would enjoy having a few moments captured, I’d love to pop by when I can.

I had such a magical birthday and need to share.

We kicked off the evening with a live magic show by Damian, a magician, and he was incredible. He did a whole variety of magic and “tricks,” and the best part was how funny and engaging he was with everyone. His timing was perfect and he had us all laughing while also trying to figure out what on earth we had just witnessed. There was fire eating, a dove appearing out of nowhere, and a few tricks that still have us scratching our heads. I’m especially still wondering how he somehow knew the exact word I chose.

After the magic show, the evening shifted into an Italian-themed dinner catered by Highlander, yes Highlander caters! The food was amazing and made the whole night feel relaxed and special without having to worry about cooking for everyone. We had Caesar salad, family breadsticks, and baked chicken penne with Alfredo, the perfect cozy Italian dinner.

A little “Ciao to my 30s.”

It ended up being the perfect mix of entertainment and a relaxed dinner with friends. A magic show followed by a catered dinner is such a fun idea if you’re planning a party or special celebration.

A little magic, great food, and a table full of friends. Honestly the perfect way to celebrate.
