My favorite engagement sessions are the ones that end up at the local Mexican restaurant yappin’ over chips, queso and margs 🍹🌮

There really is something special that comes from meeting my clients and getting to know them before the wedding day. I think it’s so important to get my couples in front of the camera and take a chance to learn a little more about them than the short answers they’ll fill out on a questionnaire. It gives me a chance to see how they move, what their personalities are like, how extroverted they are or how reserved they may be. And they get a chance to get comfortable being in front of a camera before it’s a big (already high stress) day!

Ashlee + Robert’s sesh was such a good one and the location was such a dream. I loved getting to hang out with you guys + share such an incredible experience 🦅💛

Imagine getting to your wedding day and actually being fully present.

Not glancing at the time. Not being pulled away mid-conversation for another shot. Not running through a mental checklist of what still needs to happen. Not performing a version of the day exclusively for the camera.

Just — in it.

Present for the vows, the quiet moment with your dad before the ceremony starts. Actually sitting down and enjoying your dinner. Dancing the night away without a care in the world.

A lot of times we think of family photos with just our immediate + nuclear families. Especially Mother’s Day minis, I’d bet photos of just mamas + littles come to mind.

When asked if she could bring her mom and grandma it was an immediate yes 🥹🤍 I knew this session would be special and I’d be lying if I didn’t tear up while editing these.

This is your sign to get the photos with YOUR parents and grandparents. Those kinds of “family formals” don’t have to just be limited to big life events and occasions like weddings. And consider this your permission to not wait around until the perfect time to gather the whole family to book the session too😉

Couples sometimes show up feeling like they need to have it all together, know how to pose, what looks most natural/ flattering, where the best spots for photos are, etc. ⁠

You don’t need to know any of that, and you don’t have to spend the drive to your session scrolling your Pinterest board trying to remember every pose. ⁠
⁠
I’ll tell you what to do (often even taking one prompt and checking off multiple poses you’re hoping for without you even realizing it) and I’ll give you opportunities to fix you outfit or zhuzh your hair. I’ll keep you moving and groovin’ and you’ll forget you’re in front of a camera. ⁠

So often I’ll get half way through a session and ready to switch outfits or locations and I hear “Holy smokes, how has it been 45 minutes already? That was fun!” ⁠

Once you we get started, time flies. Just ask any of my couples!!
