Evening Garden Report

Summer vacation has begun.
Some participants are chasing the ball.
Some participants are supervising.
And at least one participant appears to be operating entirely on vibes.

The gardens are beautiful right now, and Evening Garden Sessions are underway. One relaxed session each evening, just you, your dog, and whatever adventure unfolds.

Thanks to 17 amazing dogs and their humans, Paws in the Studio 2026 raised $2,000 for PAL.

When I dreamed up this fundraiser, I hoped we'd create beautiful portraits and help some dogs along the way.

Turns out we did both.

Thank you to everyone who booked a session, shared a post, told a friend, or simply followed along. Every bit of support mattered.

These four faces are just a few of the dogs who helped make it happen.

Meet Herbie. Professional Smile Distributor. Amateur Senior Dog.

This little guy recently lost the person he loved most and will soon be looking for a new forever family. Despite everything life has thrown his way, Herbie still greets the world with a wagging tail, bright eyes, and enough joy to power a small city.

Senior dogs have a special kind of magic. They're past the puppy chaos and straight into the good stuff: companionship, loyalty, gratitude, and lots of cozy naps.

And Herbie? He seems determined to prove that the best chapters can still come later in life.

Stop and smell absolutely everything.
Especially on a summer evening.
The paparazzi hiding in the flowers can wait.

Summer evenings don't last nearly long enough. That's one of the reasons I love Evening Garden Sessions so much.
