We climb mountains to get better views of other mountains!

Here’s a capture of Mt. Hood during a cold and windy morning! I’m not super “in shape” or a crazy hiker/adventurer and this hike kicked my ass in the snow (even with snowshoes). My legs felt like jello and hands were freezing from the cold/brisk wind, when taking this image.

Looking back, it’s always worth the experience/adventure! It’s a story and something I can share now with an image that evokes that feeling for me. Hope you enjoy!

*Headed off to NYC first thing next week. First time ever being there and I’m excited and nervous. Having some of my work displayed at the NFT NYC conference, 4/12-4/14!

A lot of the time with natural light, you don’t really get second chances due to how quick things shift (esp. as a photographer). You just have to attempt to make the best of what’s in front of you at all times. If you do this, I garauntee your perspective and mindset will shift.

The older I get the more I realize how very important our time is! This comes to mind because I was recently talking with family about being more intentional with our time.. especially when we are together. It’s not always an easy task. It’s limited and sacred, even more so when you break things down into chunks of time.

as an “adult”, I’ve always tended to focus on what’s in my field of view. It’s not that I don’t love, care about, or support other things/people… Goes with the saying, “out of sight, out of mind” and holds so true for myself. Partially believe this is my introverted self and also why I tend to feel so free when I’m out exploring in nature!

Wish you all a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend! ✌🏻

Hello FB fam! 👋🏻

It’s been a while since I shared here. We all know life gets busy sometimes and we tend to shift our priorities. Posting on socials hasn’t been at the top of the list for me, but I’m still here!

Here’s a shot I took last October when camping in the North Cascades! Smoke filled skies from nearby fires created this dreamlike effect.

Still getting out to shoot, travel, and live/love life while I can!

Got so much more to work on and share with you all!

Headed to NYC in April to showcase some of my work! I’m super stoked for the opportunity and what’s in store!

Overcoming complacency.

Never found myself to be “great” at much, which has triggered some doubt and uncertainty in many areas of my life. BUT over the years I’ve found that surrounding yourself with other people who are happy and/or seek happiness/optimism in turn makes your well being that much better!

“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” - this quote struck a cord with me so thought I’d share!

Image was taken at about 9pm with the moon blasting through the clouds, making it appear almost like it was taken during the middle of the day! The wind was ripping 20+mph, sand blowing everywhere, but capturing this image in all the chaos was simply perfect! Such a great day with a new friend named Scott, thank you!

Hope you have a fantastic holiday weekend!

Community over competition.

Nowadays, it seems that too many people continue to compare themselves to others, in almost all aspects of life. You end up building this internal competition with yourself, typically a constant battle which ends in disappointment. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe competition is a bad thing, but do believe building a community of like minded people has far greater power.

Off to my little brothers wedding this weekend and then my wife and I get to enjoy our honeymoon in Maui! Can’t wait to recalibrate in the place where photography really began for me!

Hope you enjoy this arial shot from last years trip to Utah!

2:23am alarm went off and I was dreading everything. “Who would want to leave a warm bed, in a warm house, to go hike in below freezing temps on a mountain for sunrise?” I asked myself as I pressed snooze. Then immediately sat up in bed, pointed my thumbs at myself and said “this guy”!

Began the hike and layered up so well almost instantly started sweating.. doing that in freezing temps is such a weird feeling. If it’s something you can avoid, I’d highly recommend it. Cause as soon as you remove a layer and are hit with any movement or wind, your ni***es gain super powers and allow you to cut glass.

Another thing I learned this weekend, via experience, is that you can get a brain freeze from the cold wind blowing in your face 🥶 never have I experienced or heard of that happening prior to this last weekend. I’m not sure how fast the wind was blowing, what the temp or wind chill was, but it was 100% not enjoyable!

I could seriously sit here all day and bask in the beauty you see. And probably would have if it wasn’t for the blistering, bone-chilling, brain-freezing winds. Timed our leave perfect as trails were becoming busy, parking lots were slammed full, and traffic was bumper to bumper for miles heading up the mountain. Was a great morning with my buddy Michael and can’t wait to do it again! Cheers 2021!

2020 in a single image.

There’s so much beauty in absolute chaos. If you look closely, you can see people still wandering around on the trail below during this storm!

2020 has been a wild ride to say the least, we all know many people are hurting and struggling, due to a plethora of reasons and causes. But I just wanted to relay that I’m very grateful and thankful for the life I‘ve been able to live thus far on this planet..

Through everything this year has thrown, 2020 has honestly been wonderful to me. Fortunate enough to be in a position to purchase a new home with my fiancée, stay working through this pandemic, able to invest more time and money into my hobbies (photography/outdoors/home) which in turn has helped me get my photography prints out to more people than I ever have before, and then to safely travel and explore new avenues! What a year!

This was from back in May of this year when we had that crazy thunder/micro burst storm pass through Central Oregon! If you’ve taken the time to read this far, I sincerely appreciate you and your time! I hope 2021 blesses you as you continue to push forward!

Happy NYE!

Sometimes you don’t realize the significance of a place, thing, or person you visit or experience until after the fact. Or sometimes and unfortunately it becomes too late, for many reasons.

Take the time to learn about what you’re really doing and the impact you’re leaving behind, guaranteed things will change around you.

Looking back on my time in DV (Death Valley) with some fantastic people! Wandering around in the dark after sunset. On our way back to the car I stopped on the trail, set up my tripod real quick, and fired off a couple shots. Enjoyed the blue hour feel with the wispy clouds!

Happy holidays my friends!

Please don’t pick just one day of the year to be/say what you’re thankful for... the people in your life need to see/hear it more often!

What an insane ride 2020 has been thus far! Be open-minded and have a kind heart!

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
