Just like last year, I’m skipping the traditional holiday minis, indoor studio sessions, themed setups and props. Instead, I’m offering outdoor short sessions that feel much more like the way I love to photograph families.

We’ll get a few of those looking-at-the-camera photos for the grandparents and holiday cards, but the rest is about your family being together. Playing, exploring, snuggling, making each other laugh and capturing all the little moments in between.

Dress in your holiday best, lean into all the fall colors, or just wear something that feels like you. Since there’s no holiday setup or theme, these are photos you’ll want to keep around long after the holiday cards come down.

There’s something extra special about getting to photograph a family through so many different seasons of life.

I’ve been photographing this sweet family since their oldest was just a baby. I’ve watched them grow, photographed their wedding, captured so many little moments along the way, and now I get to document them as they get ready to become a family of four.

Welcoming a second baby into the family is such a beautiful shift. Watching big brother step into his new role with curiosity, pride, and so much love was a reminder that these fleeting, ordinary moments are often the ones you’ll treasure most years from now. Congrats J & B, he is perfect!

Some of the best family memories happen when no one is standing still.

Bare feet.
Wind-blown hair.
Giggles that carry across the beach.
Two little girls running as fast as they can while Mom and Dad simply enjoy their family exactly how they are.

The moments I hope families remember aren’t the perfectly posed ones. They’re the hugs that happen without being asked, the laughter that can’t be planned, and the joy of simply being together.

That’s the story worth preserving.
