This elopement in the Blue Ridge Mountains >>> We got lucky and the storm passed us, so we got to see a rainbow! 🌈

Cassidy and Matt asked me to photograph their wedding at McAfee K**b, and I was so happy to be along for this one. Just the two of them, their mothers, Brian the Kilted Officiant, and me with my camera.

They included a Welsh handfasting ceremony, and Cassidy’s wedding ring was custom made by AMRHEIN’S FINE JEWELRY ☎️540-989-7100, in Cave Spring, using her grandmother’s ring. I love getting to learn the little details like that. You can photograph a ring because it’s pretty, but knowing the story makes you look at it a little differently.

Then we hiked back down in the dark 😂 A wedding, a rainbow, and a night hike. It was the perfect evening, and I’m so glad I got to be part of it.
