I’ll forgive them for being Washington State Cougar fans because they were just too much fun to take photos of. While they were on vacation at the Oregon Coast, I got to meet up and take a few family photos.

Loved getting to capture this little family and I am still working on final edits, but had to share these beautiful images.

This season has been a whole lot of quiet work in the background, but I wanted to share some recent work. Just some subtle editing went into this photo, but I must say, I’m especially proud of this shot.

My friend Kim owns a Aerial Dance studio called Salem Aerial Dance Company. She is extremely talented, and I believe has a heart of gold. So show her all the love you can muster.

On that note- I’m gonna turn in with a good book, busy season is upon us. I’ll take whatever downtime I can get

IT’S ENGAGEMENT SEASON!!

Anywhere from Christmas to Valentines Day, it’s time. The rings are bought, knees are bent, photos are taken and Yes is being said.

So, you’ve said yes, now what?

Christmas 1998 my parents started a new tradition. It’s been carried on for almost 25 years and now my nieces and nephews get to sit and hear the beloved story.

The Polar Express. A simple book about believing when the world tells you not to, when everyone around you stops believing. Sounds familiar With Christmas. The world has heard the First Christmas story so many times- that Jesus was born to a virgin named Mary and wrapped in cloths and laid in a manger. But after how many years of hearing, do we still believe?. Faith isn’t based on others around you- it’s just you and Jesus. Can you hear that bell ring?

I set my 2023 goals for my business and yet, I am still trying to find a word for the year.

I decided in my early 20s I didn’t want to set resolutions anymore. They always seemed burdensome and that they took from my life instead of adding to it. I started to choose words for each year, and the goals for life in the year I set on my birthday. What I want to accomplish and add to my life.

I try to set business goals in December, ahead of the 1st of January. If I’m not setting goals, I feel stagnant and that I’m not striving or driven in my life. Goals might not be entirely monetary but to become better. I believe I can always improve, and I hope you feel the same for yourself.

Im eager to see what 2023 brings- my hope is that whatever the year brings, it is met with joy. That I receive it joyfully and with every ounce of life.

Birthdays are so important in our lives- it’s what brought us together and made for a really strong bond.

Birthdays, breakfast food, hot water with lemon, books and most of all Jesus.

Where do people meet in 2022? I’m genuinely asking. It’s probably my favorite question to ask as both a photographer and a single women. Cause let’s be honest y’all, the dating scene is rough in 2022.

Brenda and Kalub meet at while working. Sometimes when you put your nose to the grind, you have to look up to see whose working alongside you, and maybe, just maybe, the Lord will bless you with your person.

I myself have not experienced that, maybe Trader Joe’s is where it’ll happen for me? I spend majority of my free time there anyway 😉

I have fond memories of my childhood. Stories that we share at each gathering. Memories of grandparents, siblings, and neighbors.
Stories that make my belly laughs turn into side aches, and leave my cheeks hurting from all the smiles.

I remember a lot of my childhood through photographs; photos of relatives I only remember for a short season before they passed, photos of memories with my family, and loved ones.
Sometimes you look at a photo and it throws you back into that memory, and you get to relive it again.

Remember to make those memories this season. Take the photos, even if you aren’t entirely happy with all the covid weight or the wrinkles these years have left. Capture those moments, because those photos will someday be all the memories your children carry.

2022 season is wrapping up and my plate is full, along with my heart! This year was a brave jump for me, and 2023 is an even bigger one. I am smiling so big knowing what my plans are for this following year; I am writing goals and taking leaps like never before.

What is your biggest accomplishment this year? Do you wish you had taken a big jump that you hope to tackle in the next year?

Be joyful for all the good and hard lessons this year provided. And look to to future with joy, cause it’s about to get good everyone!

Today made me appreciate the little things. Like new highlighters, little clouds in the sky, twirly dresses, picking lavender, and friends who care deeply.

I’ve been trying to live slowly, and enjoy the little things. I was looking at photos and reflecting on all the father/daughter dances I’ve been blessed to witness. And I realized that as we all get older, we appreciate all the little details of our life if we are lucky. We try to absorb every little memory and store it to remember later. I could tell each memory was deep for this father of the bride and looks so lovely with her smile breaking through as they danced under the marquee lights.

This is one of my all time favorite photos I’ve taken. Remember to hold tightly to your memories and romanticize your life. It makes life more enjoyable.
