Every once in awhile, I photograph a home that makes me slow down.
This was one of them.
Built in 1955, this authentic mid-century ranch had all the things you hope for when someone says “true MCM.”
The roofline.
The picture windows.
The dark brick.
The fireplaces.
The warmth.
But honestly? The room that got me was the sunken family room.
Walking through French doors from the formal dining room into a vaulted wood-ceiling space wrapped in windows felt like stepping into another era—in the best possible way.
As a photographer, homes like this are fun because the architecture does so much of the storytelling for you. You just try to capture what already exists.
This one is already under contract with contingencies—but I’m grateful I got the opportunity to photograph a little piece of Pacific Northwest architectural history.
