👻 Ghosts of Salem: Salem Armory Park

The Salem Armory once served as the headquarters and training ground for the Second Corps of Cadets, a military organization dating back to the 1700s. The original Gothic Revival armory was nearly destroyed by fire in 1982; today, the surviving drill shed remains as the Salem Armory Visitor Center, with Armory Park honoring Essex County veterans.

🕯️ Today we're really excited to share the first in what we hope will be a series throughout the remainder of the year: Ghosts of Salem.

Salem is a place filled with historic locations, wonderful people, and spooky legends. Here's the first in the series: The Pickman House, a favorite location on any ghost tour and one of the few first-period structures left in Salem, dating back to 1664, and lovingly preserved by the Peabody Essex Museum.
