I have a very real passion for telling life's stories and documenting them as authentically as they take place. There is something in a film image that captures the depth of a moment, and there is a lot about digital media that allows me to capture it's spontaneity. When your wedding day has come and gone, and your babies are grown, you will hold a beautiful collection of carefully, hand-edited images that tell your story in the most organic way. My style is a reflection of the way I approach my life. It is simple, genuine, evolving and moving, but always, always true to the story I have the chance to define. This girl. 🎨 I have so many words to say about this girl + her talent + her heart + the impact she has on everyone around her + my time spent with her and I’m excited to share all of that next week. Walking in to school this morning with my baby boy. It’s always these early mornings that get the mind reeling. We went over our morning scripture, said a prayer. Off he goes with his buddy, shoulder bumping and giggling the whole way to the door.

You do this only once, twice, a few times if you’re able and fortunate (and brave). 😂 How blessed are we to lead them through a life that is comfortable and joyful and meets their needs physically and emotionally and mentally? It’s the hardest thing I’ll ever do. And forever a gift.

Ciara on her third adventure. I imagine the antics this next little will have with his or her older brothers. Whoever this babe becomes, they will be shaped by a life of so much love. Chasing chickens and fishing and catching grasshoppers. And always picking mama flowers.

A true joy to have a window to see into this life they live. This little family is magic.

They met in middle school, attended church camp together. They cherish a single polaroid of them taken the Summer before they started dating and lean heavily on their faith to guide them.⁠

There are so many things about Trenton and Dylan that caught my heart as we have gotten to know each other.⁠
⁠
They now they share a mutual love of this place — a place Dylan holds memories of growing up, fishing with family and catching the sun rise and set over the inlet.⁠

This morning, it was early. The sun shied behind the clouds and made for a hazy, cotton candy canvas. I sat on a rock and allowed my foggy camera and brain to acclimatize, wondering how in the world a place so peaceful could be so accessible.⁠

They sauntered up the street, coffees in hand, comfortable — like they were walking into their kitchen to greet the day.⁠
⁠
“Warm and effortless” are two words Dylan used to describe what she was envisioning for their session, and I think we hit the nail on the head.⁠

Somehow our Summer has come to a close. My little biz has slowed and the time has been filled with my little critters, driveway hangs with the neighborhood crew and backyard water days. A go-getter, self-proclaimed type A meets a midwestern boy who is master of the gritty. They have an epic wedding with tons of friends between the two of them and the kind of beachy breeze and sunshine one can only hope for on a mid-May, Saint Simons day.

I have gotten to know these two over the course of a year and am better off for it — I’ve smiled so much learning more about who these people are individually and what their relationship style is like. Running up and down a beach at sunrise despite not being morning people, cracking jokes and searching for seashells for me to bring back to my son (Ivey found the perfect one 🐚)

Grateful in every sense of the word to have served these people and have been let in on helping to tell the story of this chapter of life.

Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Boddy. May you dance the gritty through every blessing this marriage brings you 🕺🏻

So, naturally my mind becomes entranced once more in her wedding — a flurry of vibrant details + dahlias of every shade — a myriad of colors and the most thoughtful of elements (even down to the handcrafted plates from talented friend ) that can only be so effortlessly composed by the eye of an artist.⁠
