A few of my favorite black and white frames from Kristene and Gavin’s wedding at The Clyde Venue in downtown Savannah.

I’ve had the privilege of being alongside these two from the very beginning, watching their plans come together and ultimately getting to document the day they had been waiting for. There’s something so special about getting to know a couple beyond the wedding day and then being there to capture all of the little moments in between.

These frames felt like they needed their own little corner of the feed.

The movement. The emotion. The quiet in between the big moments. The kind of photographs that feel just as meaningful years from now as they did in the moment they were taken.

Kristene and Gavin, I absolutely adore you both and I’m so grateful I got to tell this part of your story.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

An artist.

I think, for me, being an artist has never really been about making something beautiful just for the sake of it. It’s about noticing the little things. The way someone looks at the person they love. The chaos and tenderness of a family. The in between moments that would otherwise disappear with time.

Somehow, I get to make a living doing exactly that.

I get to spend my days creating, documenting, and telling stories through photographs. And somehow, this little dream of mine became my full time job.

To every person who has stepped in front of my camera this past year, thank you. Truly. Thank you for trusting me with your memories, for inviting me into your lives, and for continuing to bring me along for chapter after chapter.

The fact that you keep coming back, and that I get to watch your families grow, your relationships change, and your stories unfold, is something I will never take for granted.

I have so much love for every single one of you, more than I could probably ever put into words.

What a privilege it is to be an artist. And what a privilege it is to call this my job. ♡

I truly don’t think I’ll ever have the words to explain how grateful I am for every person who has trusted me with their memories.

What started as a little dream has grown into something so much bigger than I ever could have imagined. Pier 99 Photography exists because of the incredible people who continue to choose me, support me, recommend me, and trust me to capture the moments that matter most.

There are places that make you want to take in every little detail, and Cypress Gardens gave us the most beautiful setting for Kayla and Jordan’s engagement session.

Spanish moss draped from the trees, lily pads stretching across the water, ducks wandering through the gardens, and the most beautiful light filtering through it all. It was the kind of setting that made it easy to forget about the camera and simply enjoy the afternoon.

What I loved most about photographing these two was how naturally they settled into each other. The laughter, the little glances, the way they reached for one another without thinking, and all of those in between moments that happen when you stop worrying about getting the perfect photograph and simply enjoy being together.

We spent the morning wandering through the gardens, exploring, laughing, and letting each moment unfold naturally. Nothing felt forced. It was simply Kayla and Jordan, exactly as they are together.

An engagement session is about more than documenting what you look like before your wedding day. It is about remembering who you were in this chapter of your life. The way you loved each other, the way you laughed together, and all of the little things that made this season yours.

Today, I lost my dad.

There are no words big enough for this kind of heartbreak. I never imagined a world without him in it.

I love you forever, Dad.

Over the next few days, I’ll be taking a small step back from social media as I spend time with my family and navigate this unimaginable loss.

To my clients, if you’re on my calendar, your session or wedding is still on my calendar as planned. If I needed to reschedule your date or arrange for another photographer, you have already received a text or email from me.
