That’s 100 people who took time out of their lives to say something kind about my work, my art, and the experience they had with me.

I started this with a camera and absolutely no idea where it would take me. Somehow, all these years later, I get to look back at hundreds of people, weddings, babies, families, places, friendships and little pieces of life I was trusted to photograph.

That is so freaking cool.

I’ve been a little quiet here.

The last year changed me in ways I’m still understanding. I became a mother of two and struggled through postpartum depression. I lost someone I loved to su***de, and learned how strangely grief can rearrange a person. Somewhere between motherhood, loss, exhaustion, and simply trying to keep up with life, I stopped feeling like myself for a while.

And somewhere in all of it, I lost some of the joy I used to find so easily behind a camera. I definitely lost the joy in trying to run this business at the capacity I once did.

Then last night, I read all 62 reviews on this page.

All the way back to 2014.

And I cried. 🤍

Because the photographs changed.
The business changed.
I changed.

But somehow, the words didn’t.

fun // comfortable // genuine // creative // calming // a friend // an artist

And maybe there’s something in that for someone else, too…

A hard season can make you forget who you are.
It doesn’t mean that person disappeared. Sometimes you just need a little evidence that she’s still in there.

Lately, I’ve been noticing things again.

Light. Color. People. Weird little moments. Beautiful things I want to remember.

And I’ve been reaching for my camera because I want to.

Not trying to become the girl in the first photograph again. Just realizing she never really left. 📷🤍
