Sunflowers of Summer. A blend of clay types. Cosclay for the leaves. Perhaps one of my largest sculptures yet. This behemoth could only stand being baked once when fully assembled, so I had to pivot to air dry clay for the stem and petoles. This worked out well since I could also play with texture making the pith feel like it's natural foaminess with hearty clay and then secured with a rubbery air dry resin clay that matches cosclay's texture and flexibility. I personally like how it isn't super easy to tell where one clay ends and the other begins.
