Something has been stirring in me lately…

Maybe it is because Anne and I just celebrated 40 years of marriage.



Maybe it is because I am watching our kids build their own lives and families.

Maybe it is because after traveling the world, standing in front of countless sunrises, waterfalls, mountains, oceans, and quiet little moments most people walk right past… I keep coming back to one simple truth:

We need more beauty in our lives.

Not more noise.
Not more rushing.
Not more division.
Not more endless scrolling.

More moments that make us stop and whisper…

“Wow… what an incredible gift this life is.”

That is really why I picked up a camera all those years ago.

Yes, I love creating photographs.
Yes, I love chasing the perfect light.
Yes, I love helping people bring beautiful artwork into their homes.

But underneath all of that is something deeper.

I want to help people rediscover beauty.

Beauty in creation.
Beauty in adventure.
Beauty in the people we love.
Beauty in the little moments happening right in front of us.

Because I believe beauty changes us.

It slows us down.
It fills us with gratitude.
It reminds us we are alive.

So over the next season, I want to be more intentional about sharing not just photographs…

…but the stories behind them.

The adventures.
The lessons learned.
The reminders to open our eyes.

🏆 So honored and grateful!



I just found out that my Minneapolis Stone Arch Bridge photograph won 1st Place in “The Beautiful City” photography contest!

But honestly, what makes this image special to me is where it started.

Many years ago, early in my photography journey, my brother “commissioned” me to capture this view of Minneapolis.

Okay… he bought me dinner. 😄

But what he really gave me was encouragement. Someone believing in me and my creativity before I knew where this adventure would go.

Since then, this image has become one of my most recognized photographs — appearing on book covers, in businesses, and in homes of people who love this incredible city.

I am so thankful for the gift of capturing beauty, telling stories through images, and sharing these moments with all of you.

And a huge THANK YOU to everyone who voted, commented, encouraged, purchased my work, or has followed along on this crazy creative adventure.

I appreciate you more than you know.

Where water meets ancient rock and light finds a way through the mist...



I stood on the west rim of the Jökulsá á Fjöllum canyon in northern Iceland, watching dozens of cascading streams pour over ancient basalt cliffs in a sweeping arc as far as I could see. This is Selfoss -- and it stopped me in my tracks.

Most people rush past Selfoss on their way to the thundering Dettifoss just downstream. But I think they miss the better story. Dettifoss hits you like a fist. Selfoss draws you in like a whisper. A wide curtain of glacial water stretching across the canyon horizon, softened by mist, catching the light, with a faint rainbow drifting in and out of the spray.

I used a long exposure to smooth the rushing water into ribbons of motion. The wind was carrying mist across the gorge. The roar echoed off the canyon walls. It was one of those moments where wild and sacred feel like the same thing.

There is a moment in Paris, just after the sun disappears, when the city does something remarkable.



The stone buildings catch the last warmth of artificial light and glow gold against a sky that has gone deep cobalt blue. The Seine starts reflecting everything at once. People cross the Pont des Arts without hurrying. The city exhales.

I was standing along the river during that narrow blue hour window, the few minutes when the ambient light and the city lights actually balance each other. Miss it and the sky goes black. Catch it and you get this.

The Institut de France dome, the bridge, the river, the glow. And that Celine billboard blazing white in the background, this perfect collision of centuries-old Paris and the city it is right now.

This is one of my favorite nightscapes I have ever captured. There is something about Paris after dark that makes you feel like you wandered into a painting, except it is real and it is moving and people are living their lives inside of it.

I stood at this spot as the clouds raced overhead and the wind carried the sound of falling water across the moss. There are places that photograph well, and then there are places that feel sacred. Kirkjufell is both.



Rising 463 meters above Grundarfjordur on Iceland's Snaefellsnes Peninsula, this mountain has been called Church Mountain by early settlers, who saw in its steep symmetrical profile the shape of a church steeple reaching toward heaven. Danish sailors called it Sugar Top and used its unmistakable silhouette as a navigational landmark along the wild northern coast.

It's a nunatak, a peak that stood above the ice age glaciers while the land around it was carved away. Its layered bands record millions of years of lava flows and sediment, with fossils from ancient warmer seas tucked inside its rock. You might also recognize it as Arrowhead Mountain from Game of Thrones, but people have lived in its shadow for over a thousand years, long before any camera arrived.

In this image, Kirkjufellsfoss tumbles over volcanic rock in the foreground while the mountain stands sentinel beneath a sweeping sky of broken clouds and blue.

SOLD! Saint John's University Abbey Stained Glass Magic is heading to its new home in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

There is something deeply satisfying about this one. A collector right here in the Twin Cities selected this image of one of Minnesota's true architectural treasures, the breathtaking stained glass honeycomb wall of Saint John's Abbey in Collegeville, designed by the legendary architect Marcel Breuer.

They chose a stunning presentation: a 36 x 18 inch framed print on luster photo paper, finished in a black wood frame with an indigo top mat. That indigo mat against the glowing blues and golds of the glass? Perfection. This collector has an eye.

I remember standing inside that sanctuary, watching the light pour through hundreds of hexagons of colored glass, feeling like I was standing inside a kaleidoscope built for worship. Some places you photograph. Some places change you.

Now that light will fill a home in Saint Paul every single day.

Nature builds its own monuments. You just have to show up to see them.



These massive driftwood logs at Rialto Beach in Olympic National Park were not placed here by anyone. The Pacific Ocean carried entire trees, some of them centuries old, and stacked them along the shoreline like a giant's game of pick-up sticks. Every winter storm rearranges the gallery. No two visits ever look the same.

Standing among these giants, I was reminded how small we are and how patient nature is. Some of these trees traveled hundreds of miles down rivers and across open ocean before landing here. There is a story in every weathered grain, and I wanted this image to honor that journey.

The moment the trail opens and you see them for the first time... you never forget it.



They call them the giants. Massive sea stacks rising from the Pacific at Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park, ancient stone sentinels that have stood against the ocean for thousands of years. Bleached driftwood the size of whole trees scattered across the shore. The sound of waves you can feel in your chest.

I remember walking that beach and feeling wonderfully small. That is the gift of the wild Washington coast. It quiets everything inside you and reminds you how big and beautiful this world really is.

That is exactly the feeling this print brings into a home. "Approaching the Giants" as a large scale museum quality archival print transforms a living room or office into a place of calm and wonder.
