The hands question always comes first.

Then the face. Then the eyes.

We never expect you to perform here. We turn you toward the window, settle a shoulder, adjust a baby into a parent’s arms, and make tiny changes until things feel like you again.

That’s the whole point of a calm session: not posing harder, just letting the truth show up gently.

If a summer newborn or maternity session has been on your mind, a small number of in-studio openings are now available for the next booking window.

Newborn sessions are reserved around due dates, and family sessions are kept intentionally limited so each one stays calm, unhurried, and fully focused on the people in front of the camera.

If this season matters to you, now is a good time to ask about a spot.

A limited number of sessions are available each month — link in bio to inquire.

A quiet notebook does a lot of work here.

One page might say a baby settles best with a slow sway. Another notes which blanket held warmth longest. Another reminds us to give a big sibling a job, so they feel included instead of waiting to be told what to do.

That’s the part people don’t see: the session often gets smoother because we remembered the small thing from last time.

Your images deserve to live somewhere beyond your phone — link in bio to learn more.

The way a dad holds a newborn for the first time.
Like he's terrified and certain all at once. Like something just shifted permanently and he knows it.
That moment doesn't announce itself. It just happens quietly in the middle of a session and if you're paying attention you catch it.
Happy Father's Day to every dad who shows up — in the studio and everywhere else it counts.
Sessions are booking now for summer and fall — link in bio.

Your brow. Your mouth. On a ten-day-old baby.

That moment when a parent sees themselves again — not in a sentimental way, just in the quiet, startling details. The same brow line. The same shape of the mouth. Sometimes even the same long fingers, still too small to know what they’ll do with them.

That’s part of what we’re watching for in posed newborn sessions. Not perfection. Not performance. Just the first proof that this new life already carries pieces of the people who made it.

Newborn sessions book best before baby arrives — link in bio to get on the calendar.

A file can vanish. A print stays put.

That’s why we keep coming back to wall portraits and heirloom albums. They live in the room with your family. They age with the house, the hands that turn the pages, the children who point at a photo and ask, “Was that me?”

A cloud login is useful. A framed portrait on the wall becomes part of daily life.

Juneteenth marks the day the last enslaved people in the United States learned they were free — two and a half years after emancipation had already been declared.
The delay mattered. The knowing mattered. Being told you exist as a full human being, with dignity and rights — that moment mattered then and it matters now.
Photography has always been part of how Black families documented their lives on their own terms. Formal portraits, everyday moments, proof of joy and love and ordinary life. Images as evidence that we were here, fully and completely.
This studio believes every family deserves to be seen that way. Honestly. Completely. On their own terms.

A baby crying isn’t the hard part.

It’s the parent who hasn’t slept, the feeding that needs one more pause, the tiny reset before anyone can settle enough for a real photograph.

That’s why we keep newborn sessions calm, baby-led, and unhurried. Not because it sounds nice. Because rushed sessions show it immediately — in the parents’ shoulders, in the baby’s rhythm, in the final images.

This work only lasts when we protect the pace.
A limited number of sessions are available each month — link in bio to inquire.

A hand on a shoulder. A foot that still can’t reach the floor.

That’s usually where the truth is.

Not in the perfectly arranged version of a family, but in the small, unguarded details that say: this is the season we were in. The high chair tucked a little too close. The toddler swinging over the edge of the chair. A parent reaching without thinking.

Those are the things time changes first. And years from now, they’re often the details that mean the most.

Reach out when you're ready — I'd love to hear your story.

Most people don’t arrive knowing what photographs well.

That’s our job.

In the client closet, we try on a few pieces, watch how they move, and quietly take the pressure off all the deciding. The session starts with less second-guessing and more of you simply being seen.

That matters. Because the best portraits rarely begin with perfect confidence — they begin with a little relief.

Not sure where to start? That's what I'm here for
