At approximately 10:45am the NBDPS was dispatched to an apartment building for a report of smoke in an apartment unit and alarms going off.

Units quickly arrived on scene and determined there was a working fire in the apartment unit and upgraded the call to an apartment fire adding Lake Johanna Fire units to the call.

Crews quickly knocked down the fire limiting damage to the area of origin. The building was ventilated and crews cleared after approximately 45 minutes.

The fire is not suspicious, there were working smoke detectors, and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The NBDPS reminds everyone not to store items on top of or inside of stoves.
