Figured I'd share a few shots from the last couple winters to remind everyone what we were dealing with a few months ago.

If you can get outside, definitely do so!

Happy Earth Day 🌍

From quiet wildlife moments to nights under the northern lights, everything I photograph starts with one thing: a wild, living planet worth preserving.

Every scene here resists control.

Out there, plans fail constantly. Weather shifts, animals don’t show, the light rarely does what you expect.

You learn to let go of the photo you wanted, and pay attention to what’s actually in front of you.

They do not wait for us;
the deer, the wing, the quiet step.
We come back with nothing, again and again,
until one day, we don’t.

🐍 The mice and rats’ favorite neighbor…

80° in April woke everything up fast. Yesterday I watched nearly ten gray rat snakes (Pantherophis spiloides) all beelining for the same cherry tree. Not exactly the most charismatic crowd… unless you’re into snakes 😅

They’re harmless though, and actually great to have around, helping keep rodent populations in check. This activity is most likely a mix of the sudden warmth and mating season.
