Quite a few folks were showing up fifteen minutes before the start of National Night Out 2026 at St Johns City Park.

The weather was perfect our third year providing music for the event. Thanks to the St Johns City Police Department and St Johns Fire Department for organizing NNO, part of a national campaign to promote partnership between emergency responders and the communities they serve.

Although most of The Beatles' multitrack session tapes have been preserved in high definition digital format for future remixes, no such multitrack session tapes exist for "She Loves You" (and its B-side "I'll Get You") or "Love Me Do" (and "P.S. I Love You").

This is because it was Abbey Road's practice prior to 1963 to wipe and reuse the original session tapes after the mono mix was completed. Only the mono master tapes for these songs remained for digitization.

But it is our prediction that it's only a matter of time - if it hasn't been done already - that artificial intelligence will be able to separate the voices and instruments for these songs into individual tracks.

We maintain a complete digital archive of all of our clients' projects dating back to our first recording sessions in 1998, and occasionally a client has needed to use one of them.

50 years ago, Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys were putting the finishing touches on what was, even by today's standards, an incredible studio production creative and technical masterpiece.

"Good Vibrations" is only 3 minutes and 35 seconds long, but it was spliced together from over 90 minutes of multitrack tape, compiled from many more hours of musicians' recording time in the studio.

That one song cost an unprecedented $16,000 (about $165,500 today) and took six months to complete.

In today's studio environment, cutting and pasting audio takes like we do at 33 1/3 Street Sound is relatively simple when done on the computer, but in 1966, the Beach Boys were working with magnetic audio tape - which had to be either physically cut and taped together or re-recorded onto another tape machine to tie the different selected parts together.

We are at St. Johns Middle School, where contestants are rehearsing for tomorrow (Thursday) night's Mint Festival Pageant. We're producing introduction and music tracks and producing archive videography for the 24th year.

Nichole Buchmann of WILX-TV will be our emcee, and it is shaping up to be a great competition.

The pageant begins at 7pm.

We are at the Michigan State University Extension Agency's Saginaw Valley Research Center near Frankenmuth to video record their wheat program's annual "field day", where farmers from all across the state gather to tour the test plots and listen to presentations of the university ag department researchers' findings.

We've been invited back to provide deejayed music and announcements for the annual National Night Out event at St Johns City Park on August 4th, 6-8pm.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, traditionally held on the first Tuesday in August.
