I desperately want you to feel something when I send you your gallery.

Not just look through it and think, “These are pretty.” I want you to see an image years from now and immediately remember what it felt like to be right there in that moment.

And I know that so many people say, “We really just need a few pictures,” or “Can we just make it quick?” And I completely understand that. Life is busy, kids have short attention spans, and sometimes all you want is one picture where everyone is looking at the camera.

And I will absolutely get you that picture. ❤️

But I don’t want that to be *all* you have.

Because when you look back at your family years from now, I don’t think you’ll *only* want to remember what everyone looked like. I think you’ll also want to remember what it felt like to be right in the middle of this particular season of life 🤍

A little associate love today. 🤎

I wasn’t able to photograph this session myself because I was off shooting a commercial project, so my associate lisachristine.photography stepped in—and for her first time going completely solo, she absolutely killed it.

The compositions. The little in-between moments. The way she saw this sweet family and told their story through these frames… I couldn’t be more proud.

I took care of the editing and hand-selecting the images for their gallery, but the vision behind these photographs was hers—and I think they speak for themselves.

This was such a beautiful August evening, made even sweeter by little Chloe, who was very clearly the star of the show. 🤍

This is just a tiny peek at what’s waiting in their gallery, and there is so much more to come.

And now we get to look forward to meeting their little one for their newborn session. 🥹

If you told me, “I’m going to feel SO awkward in photos…” please know you are not alone. 🤍

This is probably the #1 thing I hear from my clients before we start.

“I don’t know what to do with my hands.”
“I always feel weird in pictures.”
“I’m just not good at taking photos.”

And that’s exactly why you don’t have to know what to do. That’s my job. 🫶🏼

I’ll guide you every step of the way — what to do with your hands, where to look, how to position your face, when to move, when to laugh, when to slow down. I’ll fix a piece of hair that’s out of place, remind you to lift your chin, find your most flattering angles, and make sure you look and feel your best.

My goal is never for your photos to feel stiff or overly posed. I want them to feel natural, effortless, and like you.

And here’s something I tell my clients all the time: when I get quiet behind the camera, it’s because it’s really good. 😂

You don’t have to know how to pose. You just have to show up. I’ll take it from there. 🤍

Abby + Zach + Mason 🤍

There’s just something about a simple white tee and jeans that never goes out of style. Timeless, classic, and completely focused on the people who matter most. And of course, Rett had to be part of it. 🐾 They brought him along for a few family photos!

This session was sweet, fun, and full of all the little in-between moments I love most. Those little overalls on Mason 😍🤭 I’m obsessed.

There are some wedding days that you leave with a camera full of beautiful images… and then there are the weddings where you leave thinking about certain moments over and over again. 🤍

Marc & Anna’s day was the latter.

Anna’s sister, Faith, is a photographer herself and reached out to have me photograph the entire day, take the creative lead, and then she would handle the editing. Being trusted with that role was such an honor — but there were a few moments I simply couldn’t stop thinking about, so naturally… I had to edit a handful myself. 🥹

And can we talk about the gift of TIME?!

We had two full hours set aside for portraits at Hamstra Gardens, and it made ALL the difference. No rushing. No watching the clock. Just space to create, explore, play, and make something beautiful. It was such a reminder of how much intentional portrait time can change the entire experience.

And then there’s Anna.

She was unapologetically, completely, wonderfully herself all day long.

From her dress to her shoes to her personality — every part of her felt like Anna. She was fun, athletic, joyful, effortlessly herself, and quite possibly the ultimate dancing queen. 😂💃🏼

And if you were lucky enough to witness her Just Dance moves leading the dance floor at the reception… you know exactly what I mean. It was not to be missed.

Anna & Marc, congratulations. Your day was an absolute joy to be a part of, and I am so grateful I got to tell a little piece of your story through my lens. 🤍

I have wanted to photograph a family at the Lake County Fair for so long, and after this morning… I think it’s safe to say I’m obsessed. 🎡🤍

Cori and her three kiddos were the sweetest family to kick this off, and these photos are everything I had hoped they’d be—joyful, colorful, and full of the little moments that make summer unforgettable.

The best part? This is what Cori sent me after she saw the sneak peek:

“LOVE them ALL. The main selling point on these for other families to know is just how effortless they were! These were as natural as they looked, and that’s sometimes hard to capture with small kids! Family fair photos need to be shouted from the rooftops! Your editing is so stunning—I love the way the fair colors came through!” 🥹

That right there is exactly why I wanted to offer these.

Your kids don’t have to sit still.
They don’t have to smile on command.
They just get to be kids.

We walk, ride a few rides, grab a treat, laugh a lot, and I document it all. The memories happen naturally because they’re already having the best time.

I’m offering 🎟️affordable mini fair sessions🎟️ while the Lake County Fair is here because I want as many families as possible to experience this.

baby girl came five days after their session!

it’s never too late in your pregnancy to book maternity photos. the bump, the anticipation, the family you already have — all of it is worth documenting. and baby girl is proof that the wait is always, always worth it.

their newborn session is coming soon. but for now, i’m soaking in every single frame from this one. this family has my whole heart. it’s always an honor to photograph my closest friends 🤍
