Coming from a divorced/blended family myself, where family events and milestones aren't always the easiest, it's something special to see blended families that get along so well together🤍

I have been friends with Liz for probably almost 10 years (since I had started working at Fat Boys back in the day🤣). Her stepson, Braeden, recently graduated from college this past weekend in Montana! I remember we met up out here when Tyler and Lizzie first moved him into college, which was also my first year here seasonally. So when Lizzie reached out to do family photos for them, I thought, have I really been back and forth between Wisconsin and Montana that long already that he's graduating college?! It was so nice to meet the rest of the entire family (Tanya, John, Grandpa Dan, Grandma Amy, Aunt Missy), see their support for Braeden, and get to capture these moments for them.

We battled some BRIGHT ass sun, zero clouds, with a lot of blue eyes, but I absolutely LOVE how these turned out. We know how much boys/men usually loathe taking photos, but these guys were all pros at it! Thank you so much, Lizzie, for thinking of me, no matter the distance. Braeden - congratulations!!! I know this experience was life changing for you and you will do great things!

Doing my best to document my bestie's baby's life and adventures! It was Cate's 37th birthday the other day and we celebrated all weekend in Tennessee with our other bestie, Brittney. Catie had an all-inclusive bday weekend and part of the gift we gave her was a family photo session with everyone. Britt's two kiddos are such great big cousins! Catie wanted to document her babe's first time in Nashville, so we decided to take photos on the pedestrian bridge downtown, where you can see the city skyline🤍

Last Summer, I gave Nashville, TN a try for work. Unfortunately, work wise, it wasn't working out but on the plus side - I still have kept in touch with some of the friends I made in the two months I lived/worked there. Catherine is one of those people!

We had talked about doing her family's family photos last Summer, but I wasn't around as long as I thought I would be. I am on my "off-season" right now for work, and am currently visiting multiple friends in different areas of Tennessee. Luckily, I was able to make a photo session with Catherine and her beautiful little family work out. It was so nice to meet Charlie and Tony and get to catch up with Catherine and another dear coworker of ours. Charlie was running on no nap and wasn't too sure of me when he woke up and met me, but after awhile he warmed up!

Fundraiser with a surprise proposal! 💍

Brian and Kyra are part of my St. Cloud friend group! Brian had secretly reached out to me a couple weeks back to "take pictures of a fundraiser he was having".... only to tell me he was also proposing to Kyra at the end and wanted me to capture the big moment. Brian, with the help of some family and friends, put on this fundraiser for Memories Made Outdoors - an organization that allows Veterans and First Responders to participate in week-long, outdoor adventures at no cost. The little area I live in always shows up for any and all causes, so it was great to see their support yet again! Brent Bel put on a great show and a big thank you to Shakey Joe's for allowing this event to be held at their establishment and to all of the sponsors that donated!
.. and then he surprised Kyra! You'll be able to tell by the photos - she had no idea 🤣 A lot of our friend group was there, as well as Brian and Kyra's families, so it was a great afternoon to share with everyone!

adult wranglers behind the scenes for children and dogs: 2 ✅ (thank you times a million to Grandma Lynn Schmitz and Auntie Stephanie Schmitz)
number of times "anna-bananaaaaaaaa" said: a billion ✅
tears shed: just a couple and less than last year (I think) ✅
"what a ham" moments: too many to count ✅

someone made us work for every minute of photos, while the other couldn't get enough of camera time - I'll let you all guess who is who 🤣 also, can you find the adorable heart-shaped birthmark?!

Meet the Schwinns!

Alicia and I went to middle school and high school together in Plymouth; her husband and kids have been making annual trips to the Tetons for many years! She knew I had been working seasonally out West and reached out about taking family photos for them on their most recent Teton trip! It was so nice to see/meet her growing family and capture these beautiful Fall photos for them. Their oldest definitely has such a fun personality to capture but it was fun to see all of their personalities come out differently the longer we spent taking photos. The Tetons are definitely one of both of our favorite places and it was so nice to catch up with an old middle school/high school friend, so this definitely was a special session!

I am home now for a bit, but I'll be heading back out West again for Summer/some of Fall... so if you're up for an adventure and want to knock out extra special family photos at the same time, just let me know! That's exactly what the Schwinns did and I'm so glad Alicia thought of me!

Meet the future Mr. + Mrs. Schilsky! 💍🥂

I am so excited for their wedding coming up this Fall, but had to fully showcase their Fall engagement session! Another gorgeous evening with a variety of back drops at another amazing property (thanks again, Amy + Craig Ladwig)! It's always a plus when it doesn't feel like work, but more like hanging out with friends. We had a lot of laughs and their wedding will be even more fun! Thanks again, Hannah + Alex - cannot wait to capture your big day! 🤍

I love a good Fall family session! 🍂🧡

This property was a photographer's dream! There was so much character to the buildings and the Fall colors in the background made for no shortage of different options! The boys put up with us girls and all our ideas, and it was so fun having the animals join in on the photos! Big thank you to Becky Klahn for thinking of me to do these for her family! 🤍

A gorgeous Fall wedding to share: Mr. + Mrs. Ermer 🤍👰‍♀️💒🥂

This was seriously one of the best weather days we've had for a wedding! It was the perfect sunset and not too overly hot or cold - the Fall weddings are always a gamble in Wisconsin! Not to mention, it was my first time in 10+ years of doing this I had the privilege of taking photos at this gorgeous venue near where I grew up - The Bull at Pinehurst Farms. Dylan, Olivia, and the entire wedding party made this such a fun afternoon/evening - you'll have to click through to see some of the funny shots! A big thank you to my Mom for helping out with another wedding and capturing some amazing shots!

Next up for "catching up on sharing Fall 2025 edits" - a very special one, Kort + Earl 🤍

This past Fall, Kortney was struggling with the reality of having to put her horse, Earl, down. But Earl was not just any horse... he was Kortney's "soul horse". We all have that one animal/pet/etc that is just different - they complete us, are there for us, have seen us through so many phases of life, etc. Earl was that for Kortney.

Some would probably think it's odd to capture photos during a time so sad, but as photographers (Kortney also is one), there is such a calling sometimes to capture some of life's deepest moments. I knew Kortney takes a lot of her own photos, but I offered to take photos for her to take as much of that weight off her shoulders as I could, so she could just be present with Earl. These last few months have been very difficult for Kortney and her husband, Marcus, adjusting to a "new normal", but I hope these photos/memories gave them something special to hold onto 🤍
