The Mile 21 hill, Twin Cities Marathon 2026 ...

Pictured here are women's winner and course-record-setter Lilian Chebii, followed by the three top male finishers running side by side by side (Victor Sh*tsama, Andrew Kaye, and Amanuel Tikue), followed by some favorite photos taken between 9:45 and 11:35 a.m.

It was a sunny day, so I tried some new things with sunlight and shadows. The comments have a link to more photos.

Congrats to all finishers and other participants!

I love photographing baseball ... but after a full summer of it, it felt good to photograph some other sports.

Good news ... the laptop computer I reported stolen has been found. My wife found it wedged under the seat, and became visible when it was adjusted. Whew! I'm canceling the reports now. Many, many thanks to those who expressed concern and reached out to help. I'm tagging the same accounts as previously, and sending DMs to the individuals who reached out.

And finally ... here are my favorite "action" photos from a summer of photographing Minnesota amateur baseball.

I enjoyed photographing the fields and fans, but the players are who matter the most. And few things please a sports photographer more than capturing the players in action.

Here are my 14 favorite action photos from 2026.

With this post, that's it for me this season when it comes to amateur baseball photography. I'm off to photograph some football, soccer, volleyball, ice hockey, basketball, indoor track and field, and several other fall and winter sports. I enjoy them, too.

But I'll be honest ... I'm already looking forward to mid-May when amateur baseball starts up again. I've photographed at 69 fields the past three years, and have perhaps 180 more to visit. It's going to be a lot of fun to photograph at as many as I can.
