FOR SALE!!! After purchasing my last camera, a Sony A1 MK 2, I no longer need my 2nd A1 MK 1. It’s very clean, has only 25,062 clicks (pretty low for a pro camera). I’ve added a vertical double battery grip (one battery will come with the camera), and a very sturdy ArcaSwiss compatible L bracket. This is truly one of the Flagship cameras on the market for ANY genre of photography (50 megapixel sensor, so plenty if you ever need to do significant cropping), and one of the best cameras out there if you want the MOST dynamic range!!! DM or call me if interested!!! Price, $4200 OBO (compare to others without the vertical grip or RRS L bracket being sold on EBay). BH is selling this camera for $5700 new without add-ons! Last year I purchased a lightly used Sony A1 as a backup camera to my other A1. I added a vertical grip and L bracket, which while a significant increase in overall weight, gives the camera better ergonomics, doubles battery life, allows for easy vertical tripod mounting, and protects the camera from trauma (though it added about $500 increase to my cost). This makes this flagship camera the best combo (wildlife and landscapes) on the market with a 50 megapixel sensor, and up to 50 fps full frame burst rate. So earlier this month I got my new A1 Mk2. Now I have an extra A1 mk1. New retail price for this camera is $6500, excluding my add-ons! I’m selling my newer lightly used A1 mk1 with the grip and L bracket for $4200. It will cone with one battery and Sony charger. Please let me know of your interest, as I’ll be posting on marketplace and eBay soon. Thanks!!!

Last and only call for next July's SE Alaska Tour (July 22-27,2024), as IF we don't have a few more attendees, we will be forced to cancel the trip (for the first time in about 7 years, including the pandemic year). I've had a number of folks voice their interest. But to date, not registered. I'm fine with the extra week off, though will sorely miss my Wrangell friends. So, the deadline to register (with a deposit) is 12/15/23. It would make an awesome Christmas present. Just sayin. And for those thinking they'll go with me "sometime down the road". I'll be "retiring" from tours/workshops after 2025. I will plan a trip to Alaska that year, and see what transpires as well. Announcing…. The release of next year’s EPIC KENYAN GREAT MIGRATION TOUR!!! I will be taking a MAXIMUM of 12 participants (more likely 9-10. And we are holding 5 spots for guests who paid their deposit for this year, but could not make it, and a couple others that have verbalized their interest (we hold those spots for 10 days, and if deposits are not made, release them back as “available”).
For those wondering, I will officially only be leading tours and safaris until age 65. So for those who’ve said “eventually I’ll go with you…”, that means a max of only 3 more years!
This is an amazing trip in the most incredible locations in the world! Highlights include: The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust with time in The Nairobi NP, Amboselli NP, The Maasai Mara, and opportunities to meet elephant researchers, Maasai tribal villages and a school. 12 days for the lowest price we’ve offered for an African safari! We are offering an extension to Tsavo NP to see the herds of rescued elephants from Sheldrick! Love to see you there!!!

A special marine mammal tour is part of our SE Alaska photo workshop/tour. An amazingly active calving glacier (Leconte), iridescent blue icebergs. A crazy number of black bears fishing along with brown bears and cubs, cubs, and cubs!!! Along with countless Bald Eagles. A hidden treasure of Alaska that I've been going to for 14 years. Having done over 42 bear treks, I can assure you everyone is very safe, yet so close to these incredible animals fishing to fatten up for the winter.

A visit to a Maasai school can be a highlight of our safari for many! The school we go to started out with only 12 students. And now a few years later has over 250 kids. Many who are unable to pay get sponsored and actually live in school dormitories that double as classrooms! These visits are very impactful to both the kids and to us!!!
