Hi friends, it’s been a while since I’ve posted, so here’s what I’ve been up to:
I went in to see a new uveitis specialist last week. I was in disbelief of the news Dr Patel gave me. With a smile, he asked how I got in to see him, as he no longer specializes in uveitis, as well as why I was there to see him. After almost two years of going through my eye journey, he told me my eyes are free from inflammation. I asked about the floaters and he said they’re normal. Granted, I would like them to clear up now, but to hear they’re normal and that my eyes are healed - a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders.
July 2024 I got food poisoning with a high fever, then extreme pain and inflammation in my eyes (I never thought I would be so thankful for steroids and dilation drops to save my eyes). April 2025 I went gluten free with reduced processed sugar intake to see if it would help my inflammation- sure enough, it did. It did so much, that my doctor at the time said my inflammation levels finally started to go down and I was no longer “off the charts”.
I can never thank my friends and family and church family enough for coming over to help me take care of my three month old daughter while I could hardly see. While I was literally living in darkness. Not to mention, my husband and sister helping me keep my business afloat while I still had clients to take care of. Now, I can be there for them if they are in need of help.
No matter what illness, mental or physical you’re going through, God is always there waiting to hear from you and guide you and help you through it. I know I’ve grown a lot through this difficult road, and keeping my eyes on Jesus was the light at the end of the tunnel I needed to not lose hope.
God is good all of the time.
Beautiful photo shot by my friend P.J. for me while I was in the thick of it.
