The Monarch Butterfly!

They are such beautiful creatures! A migrating monarch can travel up to 2,500 miles! Traveling up to 100 miles each day!

Hello little Summer Tanager!

Summer Tanagers spend their winters in the tropics of Central and South America. Male Summer Tanagers are a deep scarlet red while females are a yellow with green undertones.

I have seen both male and female on the farm and I am slightly partial to the females and their beautiful yellow color!

Fun fact: I started Foe-tography before my last name was even Foe, a month before I graduated high school. I wanted to be able to provide affordable photography while being able to work around my chronic pain condition. I have free lanced for McLean County News, done several weddings and to many family photos to count. Now my main focus has shifted to nature photography 🍃

Yesterday three very special people to me lost their home due to a fire. Right now they need some love and prayers.

April 26th I will be offering mini sessions and 100% of the proceeds go to the Embry Family!

I am asking a minimum donation of $20 for a 10 minute mini session.

Such a blessing to catch a few pictures of the quail!

Northern Bobwhite Quail

These quail have a short lifespan but make up for it with prolific breeding abilities. Northern Bobwhite Quail is on the decline due to habitat degradation and loss owing to urbanization, fire suppression, and changes to agriculture and forestry. Their conservation status is “near threatened”.

The name "bobwhite" derives from its characteristic whistling call. Males have a white throat and brow stripe bordered by black compared to brown colored females.

Quail spend most of their lives in a relatively small area, with groups of 8 to 25 birds common in a single covey.

We have been watching a covey for the oast couple years on the farm andd finally seen them up close! There are 4 that we seen together! They are rather quick little creatures but hope to capture their pictures again soon ❤️
