Anyone who knows and me knows that we are passionate about many artistic mediums - photography, fashion, illustration, music, design and too many more to count, and so we wanted to bring together some of those into a single expression to celebrate our baby Noyemi’s fifth month on earth. We hand painted this abstract canvas backdrop with some help from before bringing it into the studio for Noyemi. This was my first time working with painted canvas and it was pretty tricky, but the results are unique and the design possibilities are endless. Can’t wait to see what we do next with this amazing baby

Just two days before our daughter was born, was glowing. She didn’t want to take photos, she was already having contractions and she didn’t even know it. Her back hurt, she had no energy, and she didn’t feel beautiful, but she was to me. I was adamant that we just take 15 minutes for photos because I knew that we would regret not having the memory, and she made magic happen, naturally.

Thinking about all the photos I took this past year and reminded of this moody one I took of her as we were walking out of the rooftop bar that I never shared.

As a working photographer it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of taking thousands of photos a month for clients and spending hours in front of the screen editing, forgetting about the times you captured on different adventures.

*My tip for photographers who do this*

Make it a habit of making a mental note of your 1-5 favorite photos from each session. After you finish batch editing and sorting the edited photos, add your favorites to a separate folder that you can access from your phone (Google photos is my favorite) in a “share” folder with the photo exported to web or social media sharing quality. When you feel like updating your portfolio or sharing, just check the folder for something you feel proud of and photos you love will never get lost.
