While photographing Kehena Black Sand Beach shortly after sunrise, I noticed a man swim out to the rocks. He climbed up and stood looking out at the ocean, taking in the beauty around him. A huge wave was coming in, and before it came crashing into the rocks he was standing on, he dove into the ocean. I captured this moment just as he started his dive.

While I was visiting the Big Island, I saw that Gold Dust Day Geckos would go into the large blooms of the Giant Crinum Lily, and I was inspired to capture one of these moments. I had to let the geckos get used to me as I slowly approached the flowers. Oftentimes, they would run off, but with patience and time, I was gifted the opportunity to capture one of these boldly colored lizards on the flower with fresh raindrops and a perfect pose, looking at the camera. The fuchsia and white petals give such a bold contrast to the Gold Dust Day Gecko, making it a great, captivating image to have in your space. I hope you enjoy!
