What is the difference between a portrait and a headshot?
In simple words, a headshot is a close—up photo of a face from the shoulders up. The subject reacts to the camera — usually looks directly into the lens. A professional headshot is a kind of portrait.

Let’s divide our guideline into two parts: the first part is theoretical, the second is practical.
