Really understanding if you and your client are a good fit for each other and understanding the vision of their big day so you can work with any changes that happen throughout the day

Recently I have been so blessed with couples and families that make me love photography even more! I think one of my favorite things has been the first part of the shoot where people can be nervous because being in front of a camera is not the most natural feeling haha but after the first couple pictures and then showing them that it’s really easy and actually a lot of fun is definitelyyy up there for me 🥰

Not only did they trust us to keep the secret from them and everyone else, but they also trusted us to fill up the balloon with the correct gender, AND make sure the balloon gets to the party safely hahaha

This day was absolutely CRAZY!! My husband and I flew into LA in the morning, ran around stores to buy all the things for the set up, found a florist to make those amazing bouquets, drove to the beach to set up, and then shot this proposal but omg it was all worth it to see how surprised she was 😭❤️ can’t wait to make the reel on how our day looked like haha

Things have been very interesting for me recently! I have been going through a little career shift and trying to figure out my next steps in my Business Marketing Journey because for those of you who don’t know, I work a full time job apart from my photography and I am making a switch in my day job. Apart from that my photography has taken off and the best part has been people loving my work as much as I do because I really pour myself into all my work 😭💕

Sunflower season has officially come to an end 🥲 Here are some tips on what I’ve learned shooting in sunflowers:

1. My favorite time to go to achieve the most glowy and airy photos is an hour before the sun sets because it sets SO fast that you don’t want to have to rush anything or stress about missing photos you want! It also gives me time to work with the sun and all the different angles before it’s gone.

2. There WILLL be bees. Lots of them. So if you are allergic, beee very careful or just don’t get too close to the patch.

3. When walking into the field, you need to be very careful where you step because there are ridges and you can twist an ankle, trip, or damage the crops and you do NOT want to do that!

4. It’s going to be HOT. I’ve personally learned to not let heat bother me during a shoot butttt just know that if you go visit the sunflowers in Woodland, Dixon or Davis, it will be toasty!!!

5. Last but not least, there will most likely (definitely) be other people there for the same reasons you are so just be prepared for either waiting for a spot, sharing a spot, orrrr editing people out of the photos haha.

I haven’t showed my face on here in a while and of course I had to share these pretty blooms so here I am haha I’ve been doing a lot of self reflection lately and thinking more about my passions and hobbies and how GRATEFUL I am to be able to pursue what helped me escape my reality growing up.

A little bit about me for all my new friends: I started to do photography about 7 years ago and always have done it part time until this year!! This year I decided to fully pour myself into this passion and see where I can take it. Since I’ve started full time, I’ve been accomplishing one goal after another including booking lots of weddings 😍 2022 and 2023 here we commeeeee!!!

A little update on me: I’ve been MIA a for a couple of weeks because I had an actual Kitchen knife almost go through my entire right hand (eeek) it was so bad that I needed to go get stitches and have lost feeling in my right ring finger (probably cut a nerve), so I was unable to edit or do anything with that hand for a while. I fell behind in editing and felt like that list of to-do’s getting longer and longer and we all know what it is like to get overwhelmed!! Well I’m tackling those albums one at a time now and staying up late every night to catch up 😊 I reallyyyy appreciate all of my clients patient during this time because it really sucks being late to deliver an album but sometimes life happens and you physically cannot and I’m learning that it’s okay!! Life happens!!

Anyway!! If you have been expecting an album for me!! I’ll be delivering most of them next week so watch those emails of yours 😍
